I have not had the throat pain, definitely not 4 days after taking mtx. My

Rheumy had suggested something to me to help the side effects of mtx. I've

mentioned it on the list before, maybe some have tried it, I don't know. It

sure helped me. I take 8 mtx on Thursdays. An hour before, I take

Robitussin. It's the one that is non-drowsy, main ingredient is Guafinessin.

I may

have spelled that wrong. Give it a shot and see if it helps. Be sure to take

it an hour before you take your mtx. I space mine out. Good luck! Hope this

My throat swells up as I end the medication towards the end of the week. I've

had problems with throat swelling but it seems to get better as you learn to

tolerate the MTX, at least in my case.

I have taken MTX for five (5) months.  I am up to 10 tablets per week and now

also take Humira. I've never had any problems with MTX, however, my

rheumatologist suggested taking 5 tabs one day and 5 the next day to help

increase absorption.  You might ask your doctor if that would be an option. So

far, it works for me. Good Luck.

I get body aches, headache-almost a migraine, and loose my voice for a day

or two after an MTX injection. I constantly sound like a teenage boy in

puberty!
