Guest guest
Hi I had the twitches, or fasiculations as they are called. I don't know what causes them, but they are common to many different fatigue syndromes. I was recommended to try magnesium tablets x 3 per day and this seemed to help a lot. I also tried iron which made them less uncomfortable - as they were sometimes so frequent and powerful that they hurt. a hot bath also eased them a little. I have stopped taking anything now as I am on doxycycline and I wanted to be able to see what the results of this drug were. Good luck. sheila [ ] Muscle twitches >I see my lyme doc tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on >this problem I have. Guest guest
Dear , My LLMD told me that chronic LD causes a magnesium deficiency and prescribed magnesium 1000 mg IV three times a week. If you're not on IV, try MAG-TAB SR manufactured by Niche Pharmaceuticals. My pharmacist at Costco ordered it for me. Replacing the magnesium has significantly decreased my muscle twitching. Guest guest
Is there anything that helps reduce this? I find it hard to sleep. Just as I fall asleep my arms or legs will start twitching, sometimes repeatedly. It Same here , i wanted to twist my arms off at the elbow joint last night. it drives me crazy. the only thing that helps me is ambian. but it induces sleep. i think it works because it supresses the central nervous system. roe __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Eyelid twitches can also mean you have a low thyroid. Ask your doctor if you should have it checked the next time you get your blood drawn. ________________________________________________________________________________\ _____ Get more from the Web. Guest guest
Hi, sue here. I get muscle twitches on occasion...the only one that ever continues for an extended amount of time is my eye lid. It makes me nuts. My neurologist told me he felt it was due to lack of sleep. I took some meds to help me sleep and in 2 days it stopped. I do get occasional twitches in my legs or arms, but they never last more than a few minutes. Hope you get some help...It can really make ya nuts. Sue __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Aisha, I can catch you up. I have fibromyalgia, and no, I'm not on Clonazepam. I'm really not sure if they're nerve twitches or muscle twitches to be honest with you. I just know that they are driving me crazy, they started about a week ago, and they are constant. I wake up so sore, like I just ran a marathon, and I know it is my muscles that ache, but as for the twitching, I'm not sure, I've never had this before, and don't know the difference. #1 -----Original Message-----From: Aisha Elderwyn [mailto:aisha@...]Sent: Thursday, February 15, 2001 8:50 PM Subject: Re: Muscle twitches Sue... Guest guest
, Regarding these twitches, sounds like a form of myoclonus. This is the best description.... http://www.ninds.nih.gov/health_and_medical/pubs/myoclonus_doc.htm If this sounds like you, then hon I suggest you see a good neurologist. I say "GOOD NEURO" as they are usually a strange breed of Dr (even my immunologist said so lol) and it often takes seeing 5+ neuros until you find one that is helpful to you and that works with you. But there are lots of medications out there that can suppress myoclonic disorders, you dont have to live with these twitches. (I'm still looking for the best combination) but start with clonazepam. Much love! ¸..· ´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:- Aisha -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´ Don't let the odds scare you from even trying. - Schultz______________ Aisha ElderwynEmail: aisha@... Guest guest
recently (the past three days) i've had a pulled back muscle and it has probably pinched a nerve somewhere as i'm having a tingling feeling in my left arm all the way down to my hand now. i've seen a doctor and been given some anti-inflammatories for it, (muscle relaxants) and they help with the pain, but this twitch in my arm and chest is bothering me somewhat. further, when i raise my left arm over my head, the pain is relieved and almost back to normal, something the doctor tested me on. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this and is it part of reiter's? whenever something happens to me that is new, i begin to wonder if they are all related. i can't really go back to the doctor, not right now anyway as i'm flying to rome via singapore tonight. warmest regards from bangkok ~ james
Guest guest
Hmmm, another use for Godzilla. Pretty soon there will be a whole book full. Thanks for the report. Jack muscle twitches I finally have something to report! My husband finally told me this morning that the muscle that runs along the outside of the shoulder and part way down his arm was twitching all day yesterday and most of the day before, and was still doing it this when he told me. He said it didn't hurt, but was very annoying. So I talked him into letting me try the apprentice godzilla, and after about 5 minutes of use he said he could actually feel the muscle getting softer and more relaxed, and after another 5 minutes I quit applying the godzilla because he said the muscle felt fine. It didn't jump for aver 2 hours, and then it only jumped one time, and hasn't jumped the rest of the day. So picture it--muscle twitch fleeing before the rampage of Godzilla! samala The group's main page has a menu to the left, with photos of Godzilla devices and info. Guest guest
Hi Zmooks, Yes, I too have had the muscle twitches and more lately. I started to take a little more Vitamin E which I have heard helps with the twitching. I also wonder if there isn't a correlation between the mites and muscle twitching. And I suppose the permethrin creams could be a culprit as well. Good question! Guest guest
I got severe muscle spasms before i got this, they put me on prednisone for 2 months and it got so bad i was hospitalized. When i was in the hospital they did a muscle tissue biopsy which was inconclusive because i was on so much meds they sample was too toxic for them to get a read out on it. They then later labled it as neuropathy due to the radiation treatments sent me to pain management and dopped me up on morphine and nuerontin, baclofin. Same stuff ms patients take. I tried the meds for awhile but it made me into a zombie and i wasnt able to do anything. Then soon after my eyesight went bad and i got cataracts from the prednisone and later the new demons started attacking me. Its interesting how everyone has some sort of nerve damage that brings the muscular spasms. To this day i still have them, i just use heat packs and msm cream and take msm with vitamin C. Guest guest
> > Are muscle twitches a magnesium or calcium deficiency? Or could it be > something else? +++Hi Sharon. Muscle twitches can be caused by toxins and/or by cal/mag imbalances and/or deficiencies. Don't be concerned about the exact reason if you are taking the recommendation amounts of cal/mag and other supplements, along with enough ocean sea salt (for its minerals too) and if you are using regular tap water (not reverse osmosis). Remember that all nutrients work together so ensure you are taking all of the supplements in the correct doses. Also ensure you are doing things that help your body detoxify such as Epsom salt baths, dry skin brushing (or some other mild form of exercise), coffee enemas, Electrolyte drink, etc. All the best, Bee
