Guest guest
DO IT! Masseurs have seen pretty much everything in their line of work and are not fazed by or judgmental of different body types and shapes. We are all just new and interesting challenges for them to take on and succeed with! Hope you enjoy it. Even if you can't get regular full-body work (which can become an expensive addiction <gg>), does your masseuse offer short tune-up sessions (say 15 or 30 minutes just to loosen up a tight neck/shoulder area)? I've had quick lunchtime sessions like that, and it leaves you lovely and relaxed for the rest of your working day ... and is more affordable too. Which also reminds me - it's been ages since I've had a full facial too. Mmmmmmm..... We deserve to be spoiled - am I right, my lovelies? ;-) > > I've been having a lot of trouble with my neck, shoulders and jaw for the last few months. This is where I hold tension when I am stressed. Well on the weekend I went and had a head and neck massage!! I never would have done this without all the work I've done on body image lately. I've wanted to go for a massage for years and never have because I thought I was too fat and gross for anyone to massage. > > Well it was so nice and I didn't feel bad about myself at all! It was 45 minutes of absolute heaven!! I had a moment of panic during the consultation at the start and she said I had to take off my shirt and bra. But I was under a blanket the whole time...I was scared my boobs would pop out from under the blanket at first but once she started it felt so good and I didn't care anymore! She started on my upper chest, shoulders and arms and then finished with my head and scalp. If felt so good and smelled good too- I got to pick the aroma she put in the oil and I chose chocolate cinnamon. Now I'm thinking about going for a full body massage! > > Kipkabob > (Intuitive eating since September 2006) > > > __________________________________________________________________ > Ask a question on any topic and get answers from real people. Guest guest
Yea massage! When it comes to 'loving your body' massage is way up there on my list too I've been having a deep tissue massage for my leg ache which has worked wonders. If I have to go to 'therapy' well massage is my first choice for sure. And if you think your first massage was great - wait until you get so relaxed with this procedure that you simply MELT into the table and the hour seems like 10 minutes! Guest guest
Kipkabob - I love massages! I get one every year right around Christmas. I think those are the fastest 55 minutes of the year. I highly reccomend it - it's a great way to take care of yourself! > > I've been having a lot of trouble with my neck, shoulders and jaw for the last few months.
