Guest guest
HI, I have EXACTLY the same problem, I hope someone has some answers. :-) -------------- Original message -------------- I know another person addressed not being hungery at breakfast, but what if you are rarely hungry throughout the day. For instance, when I get up, I am usually not hungry, but go ahead and eat anyway b/c if I did not I would become hypoglycemic. Usually for lunch I am hungry, but from then on, not enough to eat something (if I stopped and really thought about it). I fatigue more often and need to take naps than the need to eat due to hunger. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't want my metabolism to slow down any more than it has already (hypothyroidism). I do work out and usually not hungry afterwards (again, if I truly stop and assess my hunger level). I have had hypoglycemic episodes on and off over the years and have been told by a RD to eat at least 5 meals a day or eat every 2-3 hours. Does anyone have a suggestion? Also, I have been having difficulty lately by eating when I have not been hungry. I know t hat there is something wrong and don't know what it is until after I have eaten something. Does anyone have suggestions on how to overcome this. I have found that writing in a journal has helped, but it seems as if my mind goes on autopilot.
Guest guest
But that IS intuitive eating. You are not restricting yourself from carbs, but you choose not to eat them because of how your body feels. You are honoring your body. For example, sometimes I want a hamburger, but if it is late at night, I might refrain from eating because I know from experience, I won't like the feeling later on. Recently, I have tried to eat less refined carbs and notice that I feel better....not as tired and achey. One person here called that extreme intuitive eating. But it is hard if you like sweets and other refined carbs.
