Guest guest
When I eat breakfast, I have like rice or malt-o-meal or cream of wheat. I put cinnamon in them...it adds a lot of flavor...good flavor.w/ the rice i also add a little milk.... thats how I get cinnamon in my diet. or I eat a piece of toast w/ cinnamon and fake sugar. I know I'm real daring w/ my meals, haha!
Guest guest
" It is great with chicken, for example. " Cinnamon chicken? Do you just sprinkle it on the chicken before you put it in the oven to bake it, or do you add something else to it too? It sounds good with just cinnamon, though. ~Jen
Guest guest
In the West I think cinnamon is often thought of as a sweet spice. In other parts of the world, it's used in savory dishes. In the MidEast, for example, cinnamon is used in beef as well as rice dishes. Jacki
Guest guest
Not quite. When I make a chicken stew I put a stick of cinnamon in the broth, or when I roast a chicken whole I'll put a stick in the cavity. If you ever make chicken curry, cinnamon is a main ingredient in most curry powders (along with ginger, cayanne, and tumeric; different powders have different proportions, and often also have other spices, such as ground cloves, cardamon, allspice, nutmeg, corriander, etc.) and in Chinese Five Spice powder. For chicken soup, if you put a stick of cinnamon to a quart of liquid, you get a nice, subtle flavor (be sure to remove the stick before serving.) Guest guest
Cinnamon is also one of the components of Indian curry powder and Chinese five-spice. Guest guest
Glad to hear from someone who has actually tried it. I am paying more attention to the little things that can make a difference. Kind of like someone said " pay attention to the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves " maybe paying attention to little things and the big ones will take care of themselves. Worth trying anyway. > I have tried cinnamon and I definitely can tell a slight drop in > numbers....... I try to have it on something once or twice a day. Guest guest
I have tried cinnamon and found it reduces my numbers by a few points. My problem is that I am not consistent with it. I don't always eat something that I can add cinnamon to. I have thought about trying capsules. Kat

Guest guest
Oh yeah, it reduces inflammation which is why I was reading about it in the first place. Sloan-Kettering lists it as a hunger stimulant. > Besides controlling blood sugar I read that it is anti-fungal, is an antioxidant and some people have said that it eliminates cravings for sweets. I have eaten cinnamon on food but this time I ordered capsules of real cinnamon from NOW. It's cheap at iherb. This product had high ratings. I bought it because I'm thinking this is a good way to fight candida. Nip it in the bud before it flowers so-to-speak. >
Guest guest
Where do you get cinnamon capsules please? judith ________________________________ From: mscured [mailto:mscured ] On Behalf Of Sent: Friday, December 10, 2010 4:14 AM To: mscured Subject: Cinnamon I've been taking cinnamon capsules to control my blood sugar and increase circulation. I'm having a couple of additional benefits(although sometimes inconvienient). My urine flow has increased, causing less water retention, and I have regular bowel movements whereas I used to be more constipated. Because I have to tinkle so frequently, I'm cutting back on the dose. I was taking 2 caps in the morning and now I'll be taking only 1. If it were easier for me to go I would continue to take 2. I don't know what its doing to my blood sugar, my circulation could still use work. This email and the information that it contains may be confidential, legally privileged and protected by law.
