Guest guest
" No, green tea has health benefits. It isn't the same plant and doesn't contain the same acids. " Actually, black, green and white tea all come from the same plant, camellia sinensis. The difference is in the processing of the tea. Below is from wikipedia: " Tea is traditionally classified based on the techniques with which it is produced and processed.[16] * White tea: Wilted and unoxidized * Yellow tea: Unwilted and unoxidized, but allowed to yellow * Green tea: Unwilted and unoxidized * Oolong: Wilted, bruised, and partially oxidized * Black tea: Wilted, sometimes crushed, and fully oxidized * Post-fermented tea: Green tea that has been allowed to ferment/compost " There are several different varieties of tea. Again from wiki: " Two principal varieties are used: the China plant (C. sinensis sinensis), used for most Chinese, Formosan and Japanese teas (but not Pu-erh); and the clonal Assam plant (C. sinensis assamica), used in most Indian and other teas (but not Darjeeling). Guest guest
First of all, You MS people should know that caffeine in dose 200mg decreases cerebral blood flow by up to 32%, and some of You consider angioplasty procedure to dillate veins in the brain, so make a logic conclusion whether u want 32% more contriction. Moreover, caffeine in coffee is a smallest problem. Coffee increases inflammatory processes, which increase pain. Coffee contains opiate antagonists that increase pain Coffee contains muscarinic agonistic actions, which increase blood pressue and constrict blood vessels even more. Coffee contains cafestol diterpen, that increases cholesterol levels, which block veins even more prohibitting blood flow Coffee contains chlorogenic acid which is antagonistic to nuclear receptors, including vitramin D receptor being at heart of innate immunity Caffeine is bad enough, but coffee is the worst of all caffeine containing beverages. Guest guest
Thanks so much for your addition to the discussion wrotek. You've made some really good points. I'm unsure what you meant when you wrote 'You MS people' - does this mean that you do not have 'MS'? It's great if you are following the group's messages to help someone else but we are not a completely different species! lol Next time, I suggest that it'd be better for you to rephrase your words and just write something like 'people with MS' - far less offensive. Guest guest
Thanks Wrotek - the video is really interesting. I know a lot of people in the group have been tested for Lyme too as a lot of us are aware of the connection. I have not, but I have been tested for CCSVI and have had the procedure to open the sections where stenosis or faulty valves were found. I'm not sure about my personal connection with Lyme as I haven't consciously come into contact with it - I'm from Australia and South Australia (where I was raised and lived the majority of my life) doesn't have the insects which commonly cause Lyme in the US and Europe. 'In Australia there is no definitive evidence for the existence of B. burgdorferi or for any other tick-borne spirochete that may be responsible for a local syndrome being reported as Lyme disease.[180] Cases of neuroborreliosis have been documented in Australia but are often ascribed to travel to other continents. The existence of Lyme disease in Australia is controversial.' I had symptoms of CCSVI in my early teens which was long before I left Australia and travelled to other countries - I don't think I have Lyme disease, but I know for sure that I had stenosed veins and malformed jugulars. Thankyou for your suggestion about Lyme - I do appreciate and welcome your input in the group, as I'm sure we all do. 'What we do in life, echoes through eternity.' MARCUS AURELIUS (121 - 180 A.D.) Guest guest
I think that bacteria might have something to do with iron depositions in some cases, when CCSVI is present. How big is, or was, your caffeine ingestion ? Caffeine is very potent cerebral vasoconstrictor. Guest guest
When one has a withdrawal from caffeine or hangover from alcohol, there is a headache present, right ? This is because blood is rushing back to the head, when drugs wean off. W dniu 2010-12-06 16:59, pisze: > > Wow! Guest guest
What sort of bacteria Wrotek? You were talking about Lyme which isn't found in Australia. Bacteria & Iron depositions.......in MY case I am not sure which sorts of bacteria have to do with CCSVI and malformed veins. CCSVI is a congenital condition and isn't caused by bacteria. I didn't drink coffee when I had my first symptoms of stenosis - I was a little young to be drinking coffee back then. I'm afraid that Lyme nor bacteria has much to do with CCSVI - it makes sense that it might make things worse regarding one's vascular situation. Since starting the BBD, I don't drink coffee and had previously cut it from my diet for a few years beforehand. If you'd like to learn more about CCSVI and it's hypothesised formation, I'm happy to send you some more information - I'm sorry that your theories about 'MS' and CCSVI don't fit MY case. Guest guest
Maybe Lyme deposits iron, or maybe Lyme narrows veins that leads to iron deposition. I don't know, thinking at loud. But this study says that borrelia burgdorferi does not need iron to live http://spirochetesunwound.blogspot.com/2009/04/manganese-transporter-of-iron-fre\ e-lyme.html I think lyme is everywhere, it is carried by birds. In Great Britain there is also really big denial about lyme , but there are so many patients on the internet diagnosed with it nonetheless, because they actually do the proper tests when doctors say they dont need them like doctors or MS society of America says people dont need jogular veins ultrasounds etc.... Guest guest
Hi again Wrotek Australia doesn't have Lyme - Australia doesn't have the ticks which deliver the bite to give people Lyme disease. Australians who have been found to have had Lyme have been bitten by ticks in other countries. I don't have Lyme and have never been bitten by a tick. I lived all my life in Australia and haven't been anywhere that I'd get bitten by ticks. I moved to the UK in '08 - I haven't left the house (except for doctor's visits and when I went to Scotland for the procedure) so I still haven't been in a situation which would leave me open to tick-bite. I am happy to help you understand CCSVI (just let me know if you'd like the information) so you get a better idea of it and can see that Lyme has nothing to do with it. *shrugs* I'm just trying to let you know that Lyme isn't why anyone has CCSVI as CCSVI is a congenital condition - it forms in the foetus 5 months into the pregnancy. Lyme doesn't stenose veins - that's CCSVI (Chronic CerebroSpinal Venous Insufficiency). I think it's better that you seperate the two conditions in your mind - they have no connection. I am in contact with a person who is being tested for CCSVI who has already been dxd with Lyme disease and who has had some success with his medication but thinks that too much about CCSVI adds up for him.
