Guest guest
Hi,  How do you know for sure it's ALS? I heard their is misdiagnosis with that disease as well as MS. I have been diagnosed with first MS, then Chronic Fatigue then Who knows disease ... so I would look at other causes of your illness. Have you been tested for Lyme by a special lab like Igenex or another specialized lab? Spirochetes do a lot of damage and cause very very similar symptoms. I had lesions on a brain MRI and spine and the nueros still couldn't diagnose my disease.  Best,  Subject: RE: ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) To: " 'mscured ' " <mscured > Date: Friday, February 11, 2011, 10:40 AM  What supplements and what detox did she do? Guest guest
Right there you go-- I see SirR's post now. Under Our Skin is a Lyme disease dvd and shows how many chronic illnesses are driven by organisms and there is hope for recovery, but you have to find a doctor specialized in treating chronic illnesses who is open minded and thinks outside of the box -- preferably and LLMD. Guest guest
Stacey, She went to 5 doctors, three of them neurologists, and spend hundreds of dollars at each one. The first one said he didn't know what she had, so he sent her to another one that charged her $500 to look at the charts and say the same thing. She finally went to a specialist and they tested her nerves. 4 out of 5 of the tests were positive for ALS. Her blood checks out okay, free of any parasites or bacteria. Right now her main symptoms are in her legs. She can't walk without a cane or walker or she will fall down. When she walks, her legs are very stiff and shaky. She looks like frankenstein's monster. Her legs give out on her if she starts to fall, so when she falls, she falls hard. On her MRI, she had a small white spot on the brain, but the neurologist said it's nothing. She is now having trouble breathing at night. She thinks it could be from mites in her pillow, so she bought a new pillow and cover that does not allow mites to live. When she gets stressed out, her muscles tighten and freeze up, which is why she can't catch herself when she falls. I'm not sure what supplements she is taking. I know she's taking a lot of them. They are minerals and such that are specifically for helping to restore nerves. She also takes wheat grass juice, (which is amazing), and Spirulina, which I told her she shouldn't. She also gets acupuncture, massage, and realignment of the spine at each weekly visit to her current doctor.

Guest guest
From my research ALS is a failure of the cell to make super oxide dismutase. Which is basically an antioxidant your body makes to keep your body from causing cell death. I heard of a few people halting their progression by using iv glutathione pushes to act as a surrogate antioxidant instead of the SOD. They get a prescription and buy preloaded syringes or have them delivered and they just shoot them up intravenously once a day. It is a rapid push so you dont have to sit around hooked up to an iv for hours. Anyway, this should give you enough info to go google it yourself and look into it. Guest guest
They did muscle tests. Testing the strength in my muscles. They also did an EMG. That along with the twitching in my muscles was concluded ALS. Once you hear those letters your body immediately feels weak. I have been struggling to keep my energy up. I am juicing and taking supplements but it does just so much. Guest guest
I'd seriously look at seeing if there is anywhere prepared to do a CCSVI test and I'd try taking IP-6 (rice bran) to try and remove iron deposits likely to be on the brain. Some alternative supplements that help fatigue are pynogenol, ginseng, ginkgo biloba but you are probably already doing those. Janet To: mscured From: CWITTECK@... Guest guest
Hey Have you had a spinal MRI done? I went to a seminar last week given by an MS specialist. He stated that many times people who have a clean brain MRI have lesions on their spine. He said that there were 2 types people with MS symptoms should get. I can't remember the names of the different types but one started with a C and the other with a T. Hopefully your neurologist will know the types, if not, I will email him and find out. Subject: RE: ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) To: " 'mscured ' " <mscured > Date: Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 11:44 AM  I had a brain MRI and nothing was found

Guest guest
Jouwhoo, nine years ago, I, too, was " no drugs " and looking for a cure. Now, after thousands of dollars spent on out-of-pocket natural " cures, " treatments and diets that had no effect, I regret being so cavalier. At the moment, palliation with selective drugs is looking pretty good, given that walking better would allow me to continue living alone. And so, you really don't know what you'd do when faced with major decline. > > We want to stay away from any drugs. We are not looking for a treatment. We are looking for a cure.
