Guest guest
, Added comment - the big negative of fetal cell transplant was that it involved aborted fetuses. Stem cell research involves NO fetuses as the in vitro embryo is not and never has been in the womb. It also never will be in a womb and will be destroyed in any case. This embryo cannot become a human without attaching to the womb, it is not yet 'programmed' to be human parts or even specific brain, nerve, muscle skin or any other specific cells. Since many parts of the world are still allowing fetal tissue transplant, if they come up with a better cure in stem cell research and can actually grow the cells in labs, this will stop the need for fetuses altogether. Scientists now 'program' skin cells to grow back together faster by using certain ointments of chemicals known to enhance healing. This just carries that chemical 'programming' one step further by programming an individual cell to grow into a certain type of cell to replace a cell that has died in the brain. There are actually Pro-Life people joining in and saying that this is pro-life for patients and for fetuses. These are the points that we have to explain to our politicians. Also add how MSA is negatively affecting your life (and pocketbook). Also - you can email almost every Congressman and Senator. If you add your snailmail address, you will probably get a letter from your represenative - may take a month or more.
