Guest guest
I'm afraid to gain weight since I have problems with totally messed up eating lately. Help me to calm down again, please. I feel completely out of touch with my body right now. It feels awful. I want to move my body more but I have still some problems with my tendon. I feel frustrated and I'm trying to find a balance between what is possible and what I feel the need to do. Regards s.
Guest guest
I feel this way sometimes...where I just can't stop eating compulsively. The one thing that helps me during these times is to postpone eating. Its seems that if I set a timer for 20 minutes and tell myself I can eat again when the timer goes off then the craving has usually passed by then. Sometimes I say I can eat again after I complete a task like cleaning a room or doing the dishes, and that can weaken the craving also. I think for me it's feeling like I have some control over my eating behaviors. I always keep in mind that I need to eat when I'm hungry and remember how good I will feel once I get back on track. It will pass. Hang in there. Guest guest
Afraid or not afraid your body is going to burn some and storage other. The storage part is what we don't like to face, but We must accept the consequences of our deeds. We can repent and be forgiven but we have to pay the consequences. As well as when we do something good and we get the rewards. Do not resist this , accept it and move over. Weight lose is greatly about what you eat not how much you move , don't be so anxious to move. Exercise is meant to be for work and fun. It helps as drinking water helps too, so if you want extra help and can not move, drink water. Do not identify yourself with your body, We are much more than just a body. I'm working on this because it's painful, you know , like when a beautiful girl gets old and the beauty fades, she is going to suffer the natural change that is going to happen. I have identify myself very much with slimlessness, And now I'm size 14 , which makes me feel uncomfortable and I usually would diet and be -10 anxiously , but no more! And yes I feel like you ,insecure, afraid, out of touch, mostly because I don't see the pounds drop off as when in a diet. And then I see what's wrong, I am identifying with my body size as if I were only that. So as a first step to recovery I accept it as it is, And feel grateful for many other things. that matter more than a size. And then I think that What I'm doing with IE is important for me, no matter how long it will take me to get it. I really want to be free from diets, fat, hunger pills, powders, etc....bye, calm down! Guest guest
My sense is that you are feeling overwhelmed by lots happening in your life right now. When I get into that spinning in a circle feeling, what I try to do is select only ONE thing to do, start to work on it alone, and then as I accomplish that, pick a second, then a third etc. I find this is like a 'reset' and gets my mind off of seeing ALL that must be done and turns that into a series of steps that end up getting 'it' (all) done. One baby step at a time - that's IE. Pick the one thing that you feel you can handle - eating just what you want, or eating slowly, or staying with a feeling - it makes no difference which! But as you change your focus from ALL to one little do-able thing, you will feel calmer and more capable too. Yes, I feel completely overwhelmed. A wave of panic is rushing over me today. It's only eleven weeks until my exam. This feels like nothing, two and a half months. I'm so afraid of failing this exam I can't even tell... It's a really bad day today when it comes to this. Regards s.
Guest guest
You may have already said, but what kind of exam are you taking? A few years ago, I went through the same anxiety before sitting for my certification exam. One thing that helped me was to think about what would happen if I didn't pass and then walk through that process. In my particular job, I would not have lost anything and I could sign up to take it again in three months. Once I realized that failing it would not be the end of the world, I was able to relax and prepare for it. When I got to the exam, it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd imagined. Sometimes the fear of the exam is worse than the exam itself. Deep breaths, my friend!

Guest guest
Well, that is probably a little more anxiety provoking than a certification exam. Just keep taking those deep breaths and take it one day at a time. > > > You may have already said, but what kind of exam are you taking? > > Med school. There is little choice about that, huh? *sigh* Oh, well... I have three tries. Time to think about what to do if I shouldn't pass hasn't come so far and won't be there until one year and two failed tries from now. I really think it's a matter of time, and if three months aren't enough, nine should be. I know several people who take a semester off to prepare but I didn't want to wait nine months for my first try as it is by no way a guarantee that one will pass. Regards s. Guest guest
I remember how frantic most of my classmates got when we all needed to take our state board exams (to obtain registered nurse license). Trying to cramp in over 2 years of intense lessons into a week or so before these tests was what they all did. I figured it was a test of what I knew and that if I tried to 're-learn' it all, I would over dose and possibly freeze up. So I went into the testing 'a la natural' thinking that it would show me which areas of information I didn't really understand and I could re-test on those areas another time. (up to 3 tests allowed) I actually passed on the first attempt! Yes my scores were minimal, but I knew in the real world I could reference any more knowledge at the time it was needed. I was shocked by how many of the much more 'smarter' people in my class failed parts of their exams and I attributed it to the fact that they OVER prepared. Isn't this like over stuffing ourselves with food? The actual food isn't going to do us any good when our bodies are taxed to the max just dealing with the mass of it. Guest guest
Well maybe the repulsion is one of the causes for you not being so interested in food lately?!? That topic would gross me out too!! When we got our dog he had round worms (stomach) which we didn't know about and within a night he vomited up this huge mass of worms that looked like a plate full of spaghetti! Needless to say we didn't eat spaghetti for a while, and he got worming medication immediately. I'll have to post (here in Photos) my copy of an old advertisement (circa 1890s?) selling tape worm eggs as a diet option!! Double YUCK!! :) Katcha IEing since March 2007 PS - I bet you do pass your exam on the first try! > > Little savored bites work better ;-) > > Eh, I had more like a big chunk of old questions today... His former owners didn't give him the required meds on time. Now he gets worming medication every three months on schedule. > I'll have to post (here in Photos) my copy of an old advertisement > (circa 1890s?) selling tape worm eggs as a diet option!! Double YUCK!! Ew. Ew. EW! > PS - I bet you do pass your exam on the first try! Sigh, I hope so. I mean, of course we all think to a certain extent that we'll pass, otherwise we wouldn't continue preparing for the exam. Going to drink my morning coffee now and then I'm going to walk the dog. My neck/shoulder hurts like nothing since three days. The quality of pain has changed. I made an appointment with my GP for tomorrow because the pain has changed since weekend. From what I think one of the intercostal nerves got irritated pretty much by something. Maybe it's time to go to an ortho after all, but what other could he do? *sees herself already sitting in a waiting room all day at the ortho after waiting for an appointment for eight weeks* At least my tendon seems to be a bit better. Today, that is... it changes. I think I have to start going to the pool (I really hate outdoor pools, you can't swim properly because a million people are in the water when the weather is good) again. Plus I hate, hate, hate having to drive 15 min there with these gas prices and the hot weather. It was so nice when being at my flat from last August to April. An indoor pool only 15 minutes away of walking. Luxuary! Regards s.
Guest guest
Thanks for posting that picture Katcha! I guess it just goes to show that crazy diet mentality has been around for MANY years! I personally would rather be fat that have a tapeworm!!! We had a kitten once that started throwing up worms all the time. It was absolutely disgusting. We had finally convinced my mother that we could bring this kitten home from the barn to our house. The next day it started doing that....kitty went back to the barn pretty quickly!
