Not that I know of but just wondering...are you on any bisphosphonates, like

Fosomax or Boniva?

I have osteopenia in my spine and rheum wanted to to take Fosamax. I refused,

even though he tried to convince me by telling me he has prescribed ir for his

own mother. I was just dx with RA in February. I am just getting off pred and

only on MTX a few months. Just trying to get used to having to take drugs at

all and hoping the pred withdrawal isn't too bad as I get into the lower levels.

Do I really need another drug's side effects to worry about right now? I say no.

I am stressed enough. A friend is a dental hygienist and she warned about jaw

problems with those drugs.

I personally have RA problems in my jaw, and my dentist has told me

that the medication has affected my teeth. I think it's important for

all medical professionals that I deal with to know that I have RA and

what meds I'm on. I didn't know that the meds could affect my teeth,

but they looked at what I was on and the condition of my teeth and the

meds did. Hope this helps!!

Hi, In february, my dentist gave me 2 gr Largopen (wide spectrum antibiotik) 1

hour before the procedure, 1 gr at night, and 500 mgx3/day for 5 following days.

1 week later he repeated the same thing for my tooth decay. he worked on my

roots for at least 4 hours totally. He told me that I have to take antibiotics

before such invasive therapies because I have RA. I think, we use cortisone and

it makes us susceptible to infections. so I think you must tell your dentist

your ordinary medicines.

Hi ,

It's a good idea to let your dentist know any new medical information, including

medications, when you go in, just to make sure there's no interactions
