Hi

I used to take methotrexate for about a year and it caused me to gain weight.

I'm off it now and starting to slowly lose again.

Maybe that is the cause of your wt. gain.

(not on steroids) and I'm concerned about that as I'm at my highest weight ever

(near 250 lbs at 5'4 " ). He is checking my thyroid to see if there is something

going on there.

Methotrexate and see me in 6 weeks to see how my pain levels are and perhaps he

might put me on an injectable. I'm a bit nervous as my aches, pains, and

fatigue are already not great and then to go off the medication that had been

giving me some relief. :/

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, maybe. I know that what I have noticed has been

about 10-15 lbs over the past two-three months. I usually maintain at 230 to

235. :(

I'm worried about how my pain is going to do while off the methotrexate. :( I

can't take steroids. :/ We shall see in about six weeks where I stand. He

said I might to better on an injectible.

I have been on MTX also and I noticed how big I have been getting too. I have

not stepped on a scale in a few months. I thought maybe it was the folic acid.

Lol. Maybe it is the MTX. I go to the doctor on the 7th so we will see how much

I have gained then. I noticed that my pants are getting tighter.

Hey all,

I saw my RA doctor yesterday and told him about some things that had been going

on. First, I have gained a good bit of weight in a short period of time (not on

steroids) and I'm concerned about that as I'm at my highest weight ever (near

250 lbs at 5'4 " ). He is checking my thyroid to see if there is something going

on there.

I have been having a lot of fatigue to the point where my weekends are spent

almost entirely in bed sleeping. I had been on Methotrexate 2.5 mg 4 pills once

a week. A very conservative treatment. So my doctor wants me to stop the

Methotrexate and see me in 6 weeks to see how my pain levels are and perhaps he

might put me on an injectable. I'm a bit nervous as my aches, pains, and

fatigue are already not great and then to go off the medication that had been

giving me some relief. :/

I guess I'm just tired and wondering if this is a good decision. I'm nervous

because I don't want to feel worse but I'm tired of losing my life to fatigue

all the time.

Thanks for listening,

~ Graves
