Tammy,

There are several different forms of the mediterranean diet. I

would HIGHLY recommend that you buy a book called " The Omega Diet " .

You can find it for cheap at Abebooks.com or most bookstores. Another

good book is one called " Low-fat lies High fat frauds and the

healthiest diet in the world " . The mediterranean diet has been a life

saver for me. Its amazingly easy and so healthy for you. No more fad

high fat/low carb diets for me. Anyway, check it out and see what you

think. If I can help in any other way, please let me know.

Wow! It really has flown, huh? I'll be sure to let you know the date/time

when it's set. Patty had a revision in California and is still there, so

when she's back we'll know more. Will keep you posted! Good to hear from

you!

Hi!

I have just finished the first chapter of thin within and thought it

would be fun to have others to " talk " to about this subject. I have

tried everything else, anyone give me any advice? Connie

Connie I am also doing Thin Within and I love it just go slowly and be patient because Thin Within is not a quick fix but it does work. Eva

HI!!! So good to hear from you and especially that you are doing SO

WELL too!! I love reading posts from IEers who have hung in long

enough to 'get' what they need - themselves back ;-) I did Pilates and

agree that its about the only 'exercise' program I think worth doing.

But I still have a hard spot in my hard head about exercise so my

Pilates tapes gather dust in the TV cabinet :( :( I'd love to have you

for an instructor - it would be that much easier for me to see you

instead of the quasi Olympic (envy envy envy) body of the lovely gal I

first learned from. Hope to hear from you now and then as you can, and

I know the newbies LOVE to read your posts too.

Thanks for the note about Gillian. Last I heard from her she was still

choking on smoke but at home at that time. The fires had gotten more

under control one day, but the next day were back into potential

evacuation status. Haven't heard since, but she was prepared to go and

did have a place lined up that would allow her to bring dog, cats and

birds too. Man that would STRESS me out! I'm with you on the good

thoughts and prayers sent her way.

PS only 39?!? Youngster!! LOL LOL

Glad to have you here Sharon, and bravo for you to help get your

daughters pointed in the right direction so early too. Peer pressure

is a reality and one that just isn't healthy if one can see it in the

proper light. I don't think anyone here would object if your daughters

signed on here too, but it would be hard for them to not have more

their ages to connect with? However food and eating issues are

universal which is the whole point of IE.

> I am new to this group and so happy to have found you all.. I am a

39 year old mother of 2 girls, 13 and 15.  I have been an intuitive

eater most of my life.  Ive never had weight issues but have battled

with the " model thin perfection " .  I have tried at times to force

myself to eat healthy, meaning watching calories, carbs and fat...it

made me nuts!!! I quickly became obsessed with everything going in my

mouth, and it generally made me miserable.  The heaviest Ive ever been

was when i was doing a low fat diet.  I remember thinking, if this is

healthy then why do I feel so bad.  Anyway, I always go back to doing

what my body says.  I eat what I crave. I rarely stuff myself.  I have

days that chocolate is what I want the most...other days I eat lots of

ham...somedays its salads with onions...lol.  I eat what my body tells

me to eat and Im the same size I was in highschool.  (granted its

fallen a bit...gravity and yunguns lol).  The reason Im

> here is mostly my daughters.  They are at the age that dieting

becomes an issue.  My oldest daughter is a bit heavy and she beats

herself up all the time. She counts carbs and calories...you name it.

Just trying to help her see that this will work if she can remember to

listen to the wisdom of her own body and not the media hype,
