Guest guest
Hi Cheryle, I get social security, so not sure how it works. I can contact the office, just thought someone has went through all this. Hope you feeling well, Take care, Tawny > > Hi Tawny...do you have " Supplemental Security Income " (SSI) or " Social Security Disability " (SSD)? SSD generally stays the same from state to state as it is purely a federal program. SSI is a federal program too, but with SSI *some* states give you an added benefit from the state itself, along with your receiving the SSI from the federal government. Not every state does this. However because some do, the amount you receive from SSI from state-to-state can vary. Checking with your case worker or whomever is doing intake at your local SSA office should help clarify your particular situation. > > Hugs... > > Cheryle in Oregon > > I have a question, hope to hear from you all. Guest guest
Hey Tawny...there isn't just one type of social security. There is the SS you get at retirement, SS you get if widowed, SSD if SS is based on diasabilty plus employment credits, SSI which is based on disability and very low income. I don't mean to complicate the matter! I just would hate to see you or anyone accumulate an overpayment that had to be repaid. If you are sure you're not in the 'iffy' boat, then that is good!
