Guest guest
If the disability is thru the federal gov't - then you probably just need to inform your case worker that you are moving + find out if you need to notify someone locally at your new location and it will follow you. If it's filed thru the state (which I doubt as my husband gets SSI thru Federal gov't) then you should still just check w/ your case worker to find out the easiest way to go that route. Either way - if you do NOT have a case worker, there is a phone number thru the place you filed originally that will direct you to a person to assist you. Hope that helps. in SC ltdavis_jrdavis@... I am on SSA, and thinking about moving sometime in the future. If I move to another state, will I still get my disability, or do I have to deal with social security in the state I move to. Does this make sense? Thanks, Tawny

Guest guest
Tawny, all you have to do is put in for a change of address for your monthly check. You don't have to mess with local bureaucrats. Ain't that nice? Have a good day, Dennis in eastexas On Tue, Jul 28, 2009 at 2:14 PM, tdianaok <tdianaok@...> wrote: > > > > Hey all, > > I have a question, hope to hear from you all. Guest guest
Hi Tawny - it makes perfect sense. SSD is a federal program - not a state run one. So, if you move, all you should have to do is give SSD your new address and banking information (if you do direct deposit) and they'll transfer everything over. Now, if you get SSI - that is from the state and you would have to reapply in the state you are moving to. Hope this helps.....Doreen > > > Hey all, > > I have a question, hope to hear from you all.
