Guest guest
I realize that success comes in many forms, and that it is cyclical...and also relative to the person view of success. For some it will be being " free " from dieting, for others it will be losing weight, for others it will be maintaing, for others it will be the fact that they are no longer binging and or purging... Since I am new, and I just read the last post ( " does this work " ) --- Will those of you who have had success share those experiences with us newbies... Thanks, e
Guest guest
e when I first started reading posts on this group before even starting the Thin Within book I was weighing 167 and basically very uncomfortable in my own body In May I went to the doctor for my check up and now weigh 150 this past June was my first anniversary of when I started my journey. Once your body gets adjusted to IE it does work for weight loss although that isn't as important as it used to be to me now I just feel better because my relationship with food is slowly becoming normal and I take each day with food as it comes some days are more of a struggle for me then others but that is okay. My emotional eating has also improved a lot before I used to eat every time I felt sad happy or nervous and now I am finding that happens less often . Eva I have lost about 30lb in 2 yr. and take prednisone which sometimes makes me very hungry. I still have about 30 to go. I just posted about an outfit fitting that I haven't worn for awhile. So, yes, I think IE works.> Will those of you who have had success share those experiences with us> newbies...> > Thanks,> > e>------------------------------------

Guest guest
Yes, everyone will have a different success story. If you are looking for another quick fix, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but IE is definately not a quick fix. For me, the success has come from no longer being obsessed with food and weight. Food is food. I am no longer driving myself crazy with having to count anything or log every singe bite I take. I also no longer feel bad because I didn't do whatever plan just perfectly or because the scale doesn't say what I think or wish it would say. I no longer severly crave carbs and sweets because I know I can have them whenever I truly want them. I am also no longer obsessed with exercise. I no longer exercise to the point of alomost passing out. I no longer push my body beyond it's abilities. I move because I want to and because it makes me feel good. And I move when my schedule allows me to. Basically, I've lost the perfectionistic mentality. I've learned that I am ok just the way I am. I have more self esteem. I'm no longer worrying what people think of me because of my size. If they don't like me, they don't like me. I know who I am and that is enough. There is an overall comfort and acceptance. At first I gained weight on IE. This was partially due to reintruducing myself to many years of forbidden foods. And I will admit, I often over indulged in these once forbidden foods. At first I couldn't stomach the thought of vegetables or fruit because they were " diet " foods. I now enjoy these foods and often crave them but don't eat them because I " have " to. I can now go to a party or a pot luck and not be fearful of eating too much. I eat what I want and stop when my body tells me to. I have definately gotten more intune with my body, not just in regards to hunger but to my monthly cycle and my aches and pains. I used to say that I have a high tolerance for pain. I now know that it was because I didn't know how to listen to my body. The list is endless as to the benefits of what I have gotten out of IE. It is so much more than food, weight and size of clothing. It is about relationships with people, food and my body. And it is about peace of mind. Peace that I don't have to ever diet again and peace in knowing that I like myself today at 240 lbs and I'll like myself at 140 lbs. and maybe even at 340 lbs. Do I like being as heavy as I am? No, not for health reasons because I physically don't feel great. I do try and watch what I eat for health reasons but not by listening or following what someone else says I should be eating or doing. I trust my body and I trust IE and know that when my body is ready, the weight will release itself. For now, I seem to be holding steady and have started to maintain where I'm at. To me that is huge success. > > > I realize that success comes in many forms, and that it is > cyclical...and also relative to the person view of success. Bet you would have never thought this possible when you started IE. I know I didn't and what a gift we have given ourselves :) Ehugs, Katcha > > Yes, everyone will have a different success story.
