Guest guest
Vera, Rob takes 2 mg of clonazapam at night, just before bed. He started on a much smaller dose and worked up to this over time. He also sleeps with a CPAP machine, as he has sleep apnea. Interestingly, he has had sleep apnea as long as I have known him, and his brother has it too, although his is not treated. (I know, I know, I've told him it's dangerous, but he won't listen...) Rob's REM behavior disorder was the first symptom of his SDS, and he's had it for at least 7 years. The rest of the symptoms developed much later, and led to the diagnosis about 2 1/2 years ago. Rob ignored his sleep problems for a long time. He basically didn't know about them - I had to tell him, and keep at him to get it checked out. He's had some wild things happen in his sleep - walked down a flight of stairs and out the front door one night. He woke up at the end of the driveway because he was cold. (I should add that he sleeps in the buff - good thing it was 2 AM!) Said he heard me calling him, but in his dream I was posessed by aliens, which were using my voice to try to trick him. WOW!! Anyway, his doc is convinced that without the meds he is in danger, and so am I. I hope this helps you convince Fred to use the meds.
