Guest guest
I would recommend that he go ahead and start on the Enbrel tomorrow as scheduled. He won't know how much it will help him until he tries it. It has been my wonder drug. I've been on it since March of 2003, and it has worked very well to keep my pain and inflammation under control. Most of the time, I can hardly even tell that I have RA. Plaquenil is one of the mildest of RA drugs, and doesn't help everyone. All of us react to the meds in our own individual way, so no one can predict how your husband will do on Enbrel. But it has really helped some of us here. If it does work for him, then maybe he won't have to continue on the steroid, because it does have some very bad side effects. Good luck to him. I hope it works as well for him as it does for me. He is very lucky to have such a supportive wife. Please keep us posted on his progress. This is an excellent support group. Guest guest
Hi Sunny, Welcome! I was one of those people who questioned why my doc put me on these types of drugs but once I had to stop because I had a bad cold I realized how much they helped. I am currently on Cimzia (same family as Enbrel), Plaquenil and Steroids. Let me tell you it is better than living with the pain. My hands hurt so bad when I was off the Cimzia that I had trouble even signing my name. An don't get discouraged - not all medicines work the same on everyone. Most of the people I have heard from are very pleased with Enbrel's results. I took it only once and my doc decided to go for Cimzia he felt it would be better for me. Hang in there and welcome to our group. God Bless - Vivian ------------------------------------
Guest guest
I prefer the 25 mg twice weekly Enbrel. It doesn't have preservatives, so you mix it when ready to use. This is a very simple process. At present, I am seeing my rheumatologist every four months, and blood work is done then. At times, I've seen him less frequently than that. It depends on what is going on with me. I hope that it works for him. Sue On Feb 13, 2011, at 11:24 PM, sunnys wrote: > Oh sue thx so much for the message so quickly.
