Guest guest
Hi, The first weeks are the hardest (and stop bragging about having time to shower -LOL). Pretty soon you'll be skipping the emails on the topics you've got down pat. You'll find a few trusty brands to buy. Meals will become simple (albeit repetitive). Just deal with gfcf, and don't sweat the detox, gelatin, multi-supplements for now. Check books out at the library before you decide to buy. GFCFrecipes can give you everything you need for cooking for now. Initially, I felt a lot of pressure to replicate dishes and desserts as much as possible. Forget that! Too expensive & time-consuming. (And mostly rejected by my child anyway.) Cook in bulk and freeze (like chicken not-mcnuggets, waffles & chili). Re " allergy " testing - a hot topic lately - you need a cooperative, or at least pliable - doctor to order the ELISA panel to test for food antibodies. It is just a tool and not 100% accurate, nor does it disclose phenol and opioid problems. Your insurance will probably cover at least a portion of it if the doctor fills out the insurance form properly. That test was very helpful for us - I never would have guessed that rice, garlic and carrots would be a problem. (And subsequent slip-ups have proven it.) Now, we better get some sleep! HOW ON EARTH DO YOU FIND THE TIME TO LOOK THROUGH ALL THESE WEBSITES AND DO ALL THIS RESEARCH AND STILL HAVE TIME FOR YOUR FAMILY???????????? .... Please tell me there's another way!!! Also, I don't know anything about all of this allergy testing many of you are doing. How can I do that, on a very tight budget? Thanks for reading to me vent.
