I'm . I live in upstate NY with my husband and four children (8,

6, 4, 2). I began to seriously suspect MS late last winter due to my

right eye not opening correctly upon blinking. After a number of months

of this symptom, I went online and looked up MS and discovered that I

have many of the symptoms. I always just thought I was overly sensitive

or sick all the time. In fact, the previous summer, I had had what I

suppose was my first episode while away on vacation. Vertigo, nausea,

diarrhea, tingling in my legs and arms, and a sharp pain up and down my

spine. When I finally got the MRI in june it showed lesions. The

neurologist wanted to do an LP, but I declined so he would not

officially diagnose me.

I immediately started the BBD and have been pretty compliant with it,

though I did continue to go out to eat a lot and so I suspect gluten,

dairy and soy were in there. I eat out much less frequently now and

order much more carefully. I have had the metametrix test, which showed

no further " allergies " but did show me quite reactive to eggs. This was

strange as I had not eaten eggs for 4 months. still trying to figure

that one out. I have been doing NAET acupuncture and chinese herbs for

about two months and have seen some positive effect. I try to exercise

daily. Some days I just can't.

Overall I feel very lucky. I feel so much better since starting the

diet, and the diet is fairly easy for me because I was already pretty

immersed in the natural foods world. My symptoms never got so bad as to

be debilitating, though I really did feel horrible last year. I get

depressed and I miss cheese and I hate obsessing over every sensation in

my body. But overall I am doing well and can do most things that I want to.

OK. I have written enough. I look forward to learning a lot from this

group!

Hi ,

You are my twin. lol Everything above is me to a T. I was reading

one of Ashton Embry's essays the other day and he was talking about

how much more effective BBD can be when it's started early before any

major disability has occurred. Feel very fortunate to be where I am!

I also declined LP but was slapped with the MS label anyways, which

will follow me forever. ugh Also doing acupuncture and herbs. :)
