Only 2.5 grams of carbs per bar and bout 21 (I think - I don't have one here right now) grams of protein. They are pretty tasty too. There is another bar that I saw but have not tried yet called Lo Carb 2. Most of the protein bars have a lot of carbs in them and many also have sugar. I try to avoid both. We saw some improvement inside a month and 50% improved in 3 months 3. What ratio are you on? Started at 4:1, have dropped as low as 3:1 for a short time when we had good control, but are now back at 4:1 and considering 4.1:1 or 4.2:1 for a short time. 4. What type of seizures does your child have? Tonic clonic, tonic, complex partial, myoclonic, simple partial 5. How much reduction in seizures have you seen? (i.e., pre-diet, 10 per day, down to 1 per day) pre-diet - ~20 /day one month into diet - 10-15/day three months into diet - 5-10/day after lamictal wean (finished 6 onths into diet) - 1-2 /day 6. Is your child still on medication? Yes - clonazepam drops, topamax 75mg 2x daily 7. Does your child have a diagnosis? She has a brain malformation (polymicrogyria) which is typified by reduced neuronal migration to the outer layer of the brain and by underdevelopment of the brain. Some parts of her brain are smooth. She was on that sloooooooooow increase to avoid the rash, and I stopped increasing her shortly before starting the diet. I think it's being kept on board just in case we need to try it at some point, ie if Topamax and/or diet stop working. I don't think 25 2x/day is at all therapeutic, is it? The original version was copyrighted in 1995. According to the authors, they added a chapter on eating disorders in this second edition, as well as a " Step-by-Step Guidelines " appendix.
