I have no family around, no help, and no money. I am praying to find a kind soul who is no longer using their enbrel who would be happy to pass it along to someone in dire need. Please help me!!! Guest guest
Jules, I'm sorry to hear that your insurance was cancelled. I hope you can get back on Enbrel asap since it has given you such good results. Amgen-Wyeth has an assistance program to help patients in situations like yours. I think some members of our group have had good luck with this: http://www.wyeth.com/hcp/pap I also hope you're eligible for other assistance programs like Medicaid and WIC which can really help when things are tight. Guest guest
Jules, I believe you can contact the maker of Embrel for a free/discounted program they have for people in your circumstances. I wish you luck. in PA On Sat, Jun 5, 2010 at 10:06 AM, delierwestland <abcd123@...> wrote: > > > hi all, I've been on enbrel for 5 years with amazing results. recently my > ins. was cancelled when my sons father stopped paying support & our ins. > premiums, which means, as a single mom, I can not afford my enbrel. Guest guest
Jules, I also lost my insurance recently due to an ex. My Rheumy just started trying me on Enbrel. He's giving me samples (they get A LOT of samples) to try until we know whether or not it works, at which point I will apply for the patient assistance program (PAP) with Enbrel. (I previously got the program for Remicade and it was a very easy process - only a 2 page form to fax in). Until you can get approval from Enbrel manufacturers, ask your doctor whether he has samples he can give you until you get approved for the PAP. My doctor has been willing to work with me to change to generics where he can to help reduce my medicine costs since I no longer have the insurance. But I had to get over the embrassment of asking him for help - the doctor even gives me a " cash patient " discount. from California > > hi all, I've been on enbrel for 5 years with amazing results. recently my ins. was cancelled when my sons father stopped paying support & our ins. premiums, which means, as a single mom, I can not afford my enbrel. Guest guest
I saw where several others have suggested contacting enbrel's manufacturer-great idea-theyhave some good assistance programs.  I have a huge medical deductible ($5000) before my insurance will pay anything and this year I applied for one of their programs and they met nearly the full amount-with very few questions asked and approved in only a matter of minutes.  You might check with you Dr. also and see if he has any samples to get you through short term or any ideas-maybe someone has brought unused meds to him or he may know of some program for redistributing meds legally. Wish you success with getting your meds restarted. linda From: delierwestland <abcd123@...> Subject: [ ] Anyone have enbrel they're not going to use or need?
