I've not experienced shooting pains in my hands but have in my feet and up my

legs/shins.  I don't know if there's a name for it.  Usually it passes in a

few hours.

Since I've had RA, I've had pain in my knees and shoulders and have had

cortisone shots in all of them. The latest pain is in my right hand. It's not

like joint pain, which I feel when using my hand. It's like a shooting pain

-- most commonly shooting out the end of my thumb. More like nerve pain.

And occasionally in some other finger joints.

Does any of you experience pain in your hands like that? Is there a name

for it?

Could you have DeQuervain's tensynovitis? Kate F

verified with an mri. Mostly in my thumbs. Maybe ask your doc about it.

I am with you dd! About 4 nights ago my right hand turned DEAD cold! There was

shooting pain (like fireworks) going through my fingers! I didn't know what to

do, except scream inside myself! It was brutal!
