Guest guest
Thank you Steve....I know we all will have our trials in life. When passed, a friend of mine sent me a book called " Jesus Calling " and I read the few paragraphs for each day. It has really helped me. You've been thru quite a bit also. I was dx'd with r/a back in 1983, then a stage one cancer in 1998. Life sure is full of surprises. My hands look horrible but they're still able to do some things so I'm not complaining. I get looks a lot of times from people but there are others worse off than I am. I understand about days not being able to walk. I tend to wear slippers alot. I know there is no support in them but they sure feel good. My aunt has r/a and is now in a wheelchair but still plugging along (with also some heart problems) at the age of 90. She's an inspiration to me for sure. I love your attitude and the " Eight Is Enough " sounds pretty good to me. I went into see an orthapedic surgeon one time about my foot....when I asked about the pain afterwards (because so many people were trying to talk me out of it because its just too painful)...he told me that he has had many r/a patients that go thru the surgery and they come out of it fine. That we're so used to dealing with pain on a daily basis that we find out the pain is not as severe as others told us it would be. I believe that wholedheartedly. Because I did go thru it and the pain wasn't as I was told to expect. I'm sure its because we live with it everyday to certain degrees. Also, the pain meds help. But I was expecting more pain and didn't have it as bad as I thought I would. Thank you for sharing your story. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care of YOU too.
