Guest guest
My wife has a chronic case of RA. It's the worst in her neck and goes up into her head causing hearing loss and making wearing her glasses uncomfortable. She has a good RA doc and is also going to a Ear, nose @ throat doctor but they can not offer any solutions yet. I was wondering if anybody has experienced similar problems and have any suggestions. She is also on Remicade and other prescription drugs. Bob
Guest guest
Hi Bob, I don't know if this is your wife's case but I am a 53 year old mom of 3 grown sons and my youngest has the " markers " for AIED, autoimmune inner ear disease. This was diagnosed by his EXCELLENT, and I do mean EXCELLENT ent doc, there's a blood test for it that only one lab in the country handles it. Since he only has the " markers " , if he presents with hearing loss and those " markers " are determined to have turned on, he will have to go on methotrexate like I do. I don't know how good your ent is, but I have been dealing with ents for 27 years with my boys, a good one is hard to find and we live right outside Philadelpia. Guest guest
Hi , thanks for the reply. The doc mentioned AIED but said he was familiar with it only in senior citizens, so no tests were done. The ent is the best in our valley, but how good that is remains to be seen. We just have to keep pounding on doors and never give up, thanks again.
