I have an appointment in Dec. coming up with my neurologist and was thinking of

talking to him about using pot to help my symptoms. The spasms and pain. The

only thing I am afraid of is I am sleepy all the time now, I don't need any more

help in that area. Does it really help the pain and spasms? And is it a good

idea to talk to your neurologist about using pot since in my state as of now it

is still not legalized to use medically? Please help me out in this area. My

spasms are only getting worse, and the pain is too. I had to have neck surgery.

My neck is fused from C3 down to C7. I have pain all the time. According to the

surgeon it should be getting better but it has not as of yet. And I have allot

of back pain. In my lower back, so much. Thanks Deb

Hi Deb,

It is my understanding that a drug derived from Marijuana called Sativax is

currently showing promise in the treatment of certain MS symptoms, such as pain

and spasticity.

In my opinion, however, there are better options available. Visit this site for

It works great.  It is easier for me to walk when I take it.  You don't have

to

smoke it.  You can add it to cookies or even eat a fresh bud.  Look at a site

called tears fo phoenix.  It is supposed to have lots of value in helping ms.

UCSF reported benefits as many other researchers.  Type in a search for ms and

marijuana and lots of info. will come up.  There is a site called granny storm

who has tons of medical research on it.

I would talk to your neuro about it as every one I have ever seen in whatever

country has mentioned it to me. When I lived in Scotland they said get a trip

to Amsterdam and get myself a dealer. Here in Spain my neuro suggested it again

so I went for it as it is not illegal to grow a little for your own use here.

It has helped no end, partically with spasms and incontinence, and of course

relaxation. I find if I overdo it the pain doesn't go, in fact you find

yourself concentrating on it so you have to remind yourself to concentrate on

say the music or other sounds but at low levels it has helped.

What else I USED TO do for pain was turmeric, MSM, spirulina, magnesium oil.

Yoga too was a godsend. CCSVI treatment has removed pain 100%.

Hey Deb,

I am pretty new to the MS community, but I can say that I smoke everyday, and my

symptoms are almost gone.  I was given some info to check out (I will give it

to ya in a sec), and since starting the regimen I noticed that more of my

symptoms went away or highly " calmed down. "   Plus, I have a ton of energy, if I

don't take too much the night before.  I take a little amount every night

before I go to bed, so that I am not sleepy during the day.  (I tried taking it

in the morning and the evening, but I was dead tired by 3 or 4 pm.)

Search for - Run from the cure, the Rick Simpson Story - on youtube.  There are

7 videos and they are all worth viewing, but the information is kind of

redundant in most of them.  The trick with this treatment is getting the dosage

right.

I asked my neurologist about using pot as a cure, and he didn't agree with it.

He said that there have been no studies or research showing its effectiveness.

However, every natural/homeopath that I have spoken to, highly recommends it for

pain and spasms.  Hope this helps.

  • 2 weeks later...

DMSO gel with 70% DMSO works well for pain. Stronger than that may irritate your

skin.
