Guest guest
Yeah, my joints look brusied when I am having a flare. I remember when I was first diagnosed, my joints were red and warm to the touch. So it's not anything out of the ordinary. Hope your daugher feels better. > > I'm just wondering if this is normal/typical for folks with RA... all > my daughter's swollen joints get very red, it is really rather bizarre > to see the dramatic red spots on her hands especially where a few of > the joints are not red and the arthritic joints really stand out... > also her knees are very dramatic, it's a very large area just under the > knee that is very bright pink. Guest guest
It's normal for RA, when I was first diagnosed I had red patches following around the viens in my joints. Since I have been taking treatment that has gone away to some degree (MTX) and I haven't had an acute major flare-up as bad as it was initially. I am wondering if it's an indication that the meds are not working as effectively as the should? Stan, Seattle, Cloudy. [ ] red skin around joints I'm just wondering if this is normal/typical for folks with RA... all my daughter's swollen joints get very red, it is really rather bizarre to see the dramatic red spots on her hands especially where a few of the joints are not red and the arthritic joints really stand out... also her knees are very dramatic, it's a very large area just under the knee that is very bright pink. When she is cold they look more purple.
Guest guest
Hi Alley, The skin on the joints of my elbows, knees and knuckles are red and feel hot to touch. If I am cold or if I sit still for along time they then look purple, yes, purple. Definateley check with your doc because I am really new here and not sure exactly what I have, just wanted you to know I have seen something so similar and PCP said it was rheumatoid related. Sorry for your daughters illness, stay strong What does she have?
