Methotrexate, Headache, and Throatpain

HI ,

I get a headache and a sore throat every week from the MTX. The headache

feels like a sinus headache and usually lasts a day. My throat for a day will

feel as if I am coming down with a mild sore throat but it goes away about the

time the headache leaves. A couple of times I have even detected a little

hoarseness for a few hours. I also experience nausea for a while and get

diarrhea 24 hrs. later.....

I'm wondering whether anyone here also gets both a headache and a

throat ache from taking Methotrexate.

I'm on 15mg/wk of Metho which I take every Monday night. Usually on

Wednesday, but sometimes as late as Friday, I get a headache along

with some throat pain at the same time.

I think a headache may be common with metho, but I've never heard

about the throat pain. It is really hard to describe but the best way

to describe it would be it's like a headache in my throat. It throbs

and waxes and weens just like my headache. Once the headace is gone,

so is the throat pain.

Anyone else ever experience this? I'm must wondering whether it is

related to the metho or not.

Hello All

The day after I take 20 mg of methotrexate I used to go through some minor flare

ups and a few hours where I had no energy. I still experience those symptoms but

not as much since I started Humira. My Dr told me the flare-ups and tiredness

were typical side effects for some. It was usually gone the following day. Good
