Guest guest
Hi, everyone; My half-sister, aged 31, started Humira injections about a month ago. At first it was fine, then there developed swelling and red " bump " from what I understand. She is now so swollen (abdomen) that she can't fasten some of her pants. She says she likes to go to the gym to keep fit, but now, as soon as she puts stress on the area with excercises, it turns into bruising (blue), swells, and is very sore. She needs to know if the swelling is permanent and if she should change medication. I gave her the hints I found here from the group archives, about icing the area before injection, taking the stuff out 15-20 minutes before the time so it won't be too cold, etc. She finds the Humira helps for her pain, but is not sure if she should switch to something else. She is in South Africa, and I'm in Canada, so I haven't physically seen the swelling or bruising. She is just desperate and wanted tme to ask around from others using Humira. She is not on the internet, we communicate through text messages. Thank you for any replies! Guest guest
Hi, again, all, Nobody replied to my questions for my half-sister, but I'll update anyway, in case it means something. She saw a doctor today, who told her to stop the Humira immediately. Her body is rejecting it, and it can form cancer if she continues. He told her to change to Revelex. Is there anything she should know about that? I'll check the archives as well. Thank you, Meerkat > > Hi, everyone; > > My half-sister, aged 31, started Humira injections about a month ago.
