Guest guest
, That statistic about dissertations doesn't sound right to me. I finished mine, and so did most of my friends in grad school. A handful of people dropped out but none of them were still interested in our field after so many years of study - they were bored. I don't think any of them regret that they moved on to other things. I'm 100% sure you can finish if you want to do so, painful as it may be. The only way I finished was to do 15 minutes at a time. I set a timer each time I started. If I thought I had to do more than 15 minutes, I wouldn't do anything because I was so sick of the whole thing after so many years of thinking about it. Guest guest
Hi , I know you are discouraged right now but I assure you that it is possible to finish your dissertation. Break the work in very small baby steps. I agree with Topaz - 15 minutes at the time. And don`t force yourself to stay at the computer for hours, it doesn`t work. Take a big walk and work for a small amount of time every day, this is how I do my work (I am freelance writer and sometimes I teach too.). Take care, Nat> > > I read the book thinking that at the end it was going to tell me the one > true way to loose weight. Guest guest
After I wrote this, I looked it up and it is closer to 50%. I think one of my issues whether it is IE or dissertation is that I want to do everything at once. Which may be why diets are so exciting. You are making a major change in my case usually overnight. The first diet I ever did many many years ago, I did not cheat. Did not even think it was an option. But no one could live that way permanently because it was too restrictive, but it was exciting because it was doing something that was going to change my life.
