Guest guest
If I'm reading your question right, I've heard this called " mouth hunger " as opposed to " stomach hunger " . I don't know if it's right or not, but this is how I deal with it... When I get a taste for something, I figure it must mean that my body is craving this thing for some reason... I mean, your body isn't going to crave a calcium pill, or a syringe of potassium. Your body is going to translate it's needs by giving you a taste for something that contains the things it needs. And it's going to do it in a way that's going to compel you to comply with it's needs (by tasting good to you)... For example, yesterday I seriously wanted a strawberry/banana fruit smoothie. I wasn't feeling (stomach) hungry, I just wanted the taste of one so bad. So I figured, perhaps my body wasn't getting enough of whatever vitamins are in stawberries and bananas. This was my body's way of compelling me to take in these vitamins it needed (because I like smoothies!) A few days ago, I really got a craving for cereal, when I realized I haven't had much milk lately, perhaps I have a calcium deficiency. Perhaps this was my body telling me I needed calcium, and how to get it in a pleasurable way... See how it goes? Anyway, thinking this way *calms* me and gives me an explanation, so that I can be patient and *wait* for the next time I am stomach-hungry. Then, I eat these things I have a taste for, and the craving goes away, I've satisfied my taste cravings, and (hopefully) given my body what it's asking for. Anyway, hope this helps... Guest guest
I never thought of it that way - in terms of a deficiency but it is worth being conscious of. Sometimes I also find that a drink of water or piece of sugarless gum helps too. I think this issue of mouth hunger is something I'm going to keep focusing on as I really get started on the IE process. > > > > > > How can I tell if I'm really hungry, or I'm just having some > reflux > > or > > > heartburn?
