I have done that for years! It was something that my mom told me when I was

little! My husband thinks I am nuts - but it's worked every time.

A few days ago, I got the hiccups, one thing I absolutely hate! I had read

somewhere (maybe here) that a spoon of sugar will stop them, so I tried it.

The hiccups stopped on the spot and never came back.

Yay, Dennis! Glad to hear that spoonful of sugar helped with your hiccups. How

are you doing otherwise? And Betty? Good to hear from you.....Doreen :)

You know, , I'm not sure of anything with this. It's caught us off-guard

and I don't know enough so far to ask the right questions so I don't have

answers so far. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, they will obviously be

needed.

Dennis, I'm sorry that you do have prostate cancer. Cancer is just an

ugly word, and I know how it is to hear, having had breast cancer. I

do hope yours was caught early. As I understand it, it is very

treatable and usually progresses slowly. I hope yours is in this

category.

I told you that my brother was diagnosed with prostate cancer last

year. He had to take some hormone pills for a while, and then had to

have about 35 radiation treatments. He is doing fine now.

Let us know what the doctor says. We all will be pulling for you to

come through it with no damage.

Dennis - I am so sorry to hear that you have prostate cancer. I pray that it is

isolated and with treatment, they are able to remove all of it. My husband's

cousin-in-law (?) had a very bad bout with prostate cancer - it had spread as he

had ignored symptoms for a very long time. But, after surgery and treatments, he

is still around and doing very well. It has been more than 5 years since his

journey began. They have come a long way in treatment for prostate cancer just

as they have for breast cancer. The prognosis is a lot better than it was years

ago. I pray your journey through all of this will be as quick and easy as

possible.

Glad to hear that other than that you both are doing well. I think of you often.

Please feel free to email me privately if you ever need to talk off-list. My

prayers and (((((BIG HUGS))))) are with you both. Please keep us posted. We

care.....Doreen :)
