Guest guest
Hi Doreen! I have tried just about everything known to mankind for sleep and for pain. I am allergic to an ingred found in tylenol pm, I have tried valerian root, melatonin, you name it. Nothing works for me. I see a new RA doc in about 3 weeks so I am going to ask about ambien cr - right now I have just been taking my husband's but I had been prescribed it before. Here lately, I take about 1/2 a percocet when I go to bed so that the ambien can do it's thing. But like last night, I woke up at 2:30 which is normal - but I had to take another 1/2 a pain pill. My orthopeadic doc has been kind enough to prescribe the pain pills as well as the cymbalta I take for nerve pain in my shoulders. I have had that doctor for 6 yrs and he's performed several surgeries on me. He was one of the first that dx'd me w/ RA. The cymbalta works well for what I take it for but it does nothing for the RA pain. It's been slightly over a year since I had Rituxan which I loved so I am hoping that this new doc can get me back on it. Thanks for your kind words - It all just gets so old sometimes and your patience wears thin! I just always look for the next day to be better! ltdavis_jrdavis@... Sometimes I'm up half the night just waiting for the next pain pill to kick in so I can get some rest. What do you take for pain? Will your doctor give you an extended release formula that will last you through the night? I don't have insurance and my PC and Rheumy want me to go to a pain management clinic, but I have to wait until SSD kicks in as they don't take self-pay patients. Have you ever tried Valerian Root? It has a natural calming effect which might help to relax you enough to get some restful sleep. Please don't apologize for complaining. Whatever is bothering one of us, another may have experienced and can offer some ideas to help. I pray you can find something to help you so you can get a good night's pain-free sleep......Doreen Forgot to add this!!!! I have terrible insomnia - I take 1/2 - 1 ambien to go to sleep which never seems to happen until about 12:00-12:30 then I ALWAYS wake up at 2;30-3:00. It sucks - sorry for sounding a bit crude but that is the only word that will fit! I usually take ANOTHER 1/2 just so I can sleep a couple hours more. I don't have a sleeping disorder - just unrelenting pain. I'm sorry - not trying to complain! Take care, in SC
