Guest guest
Dennis...I am on medicaid and my insurance is CareSource of Ohio. I'm on ssi because of my r/a. I had a similar situation happen to me. My rheumy..who I love...dropped me for the time being in June. I was to go in for my 3 mo appt and the office called two days before my scheduled appt telling me that they have to cancel it because CareSource was not paying them. They had some issues to resolve with CS and once those issues were resolved, they would call me and reschedule my appt. In the meantime, they asked if I needed any prescriptions refilled and to make sure that I got my labs done every 3 months so Dr V could check them. I also sent a SASE for my lab results just in case something was amiss and they didn't check it though I was pretty sure they were. This was in June and I did have to call for more prescriptions, which they did send me. In december I still had not seen my dr. I called CS to see what was going on and they swore that he was still in their network and they don't understand why he wasn't seeing me since they do pay on a timely manner. They were blaming my drs office and my drs office blaming CS. I always send a christmas card to my dr so i did this year writing to him that " though I haven't been in to see you since April, just wanted to still wish you a Merry Christmas " . At that time, they called me and said that Dr V will see me again and scheduled an appt the following week. I'm thinking Dr V got my card and inquired as to why they haven't seen me. I just wondered if they were hoping some of their medicaid pts would find another rheumy after a bit. He never mentioned not seeing me and scheduled me for another appt in May. My situation is different from yours but I just wanted you to know I went thru a similar deal with my rheumy..and I am always having to find a primary care physician....they're always dropping out of my medicaid program. Can your dr prescribe your meds for you until you find another dr? Good luck..it's frustrating to say the least. a ************** A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps!
