Hi guys,

I always find some great advice and stories on this group so I figured you were

the right

ones to ask.

I have a gig in 15 days and having not performed in a little while so I did get

a little more

voluptuous and I can't fit in my costumes anymore and plus I don't feel

comfortable going

on stage like this.

So the first thought I had in mind was diet... :( yah I know, it's what I'm

supposed to

overcome but I know it'll be easier for me to get in a work out and diet program

to feel

comfortable on stage then to work on feeling comfortable by then...

Does it make sense?

I mean I don't want to be all flabby and chubby even though it's not the case

that's just

how it feels, but then all the efforts of erasing the mentality diet will just..

vanish and I'll

have to work on it again...

Any insights would be appreciated because I feel kinda " stuck " ...

Thank yaaaa :)

I am a performer as well. I belly dance. And believe it or not, I didn't show my belly until after I gained a little weight. Mostly I think it was because I felt more confident with my dancing skills. Now that I am even larger than I like to be, I have larger costumes. And yes, I still show my belly. I have not performed for several months now, I had broken my foot and am still recovering. Soon though, I will be dancing again. I urge you to buy a couple costumes that fit you today and focus on the performance not the weight. I know that when I am out there I connect with the energy of everyone and do my best in the moment. And that is all anyone can expect. I look forward to returning to dance. Have a great time.
