Guest guest
Hi : I am so happy you found a wonderful Rheumy.. I am glad she really listened to you, and that she is trying to find the right " cocktail " of meds. for you. I love my Rheumy too. I wish you such good luck with the Orencia, Placquenil, and Pred. You should start to feel a little better soon. Wishing you many pain free days ahead. She actually listened to everything I had to say. She has decided to put me on Plaquinel and Orencia. She realizes that the enbrel was just not cutting it and happy that I have washed it out of my system. Until the ins co approves the Orencia she has put me on 7.5mg of Prednisone and 2 plaquinel a day. she also said the tingling and so forth that I am getting from the right side is caused from inflamation due to the RA. I have to have a nerve conduction test done on the 19th. She told me no matter what do not let them cut me which I think is a good option. She listened to everything I had to say even if it had nothing to do with my RA. She seems like a great doctor and I am happy to have found her. > > > > >

Guest guest
Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I will be starting the pred and the plaqunil friday. I was wondering is there any side effects with the plaqunil that I should be aware of like upset stomach. [ ] Re: doc appt with new rheumy , Glad you found a good doctor! Guest guest
, I was on Plaquenil for awhile, it didn't work for me. I did have blurry vision on the med. Meds work different for everyone, so it might work for you. You just have to try, until you get the right one. Good luck, Tawny --- In , " Massey " <renandstimpy3@...> wrote: > > Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I will be starting the pred and the plaqunil friday. Guest guest
its the one med I'm leary about taking. I have heard so many bad things about plaquenil from everyone here and a bit scared about it. But the one thing I have always done with meds is try it once and see if it works if not then move to the next. I realize that RA is a pain haha pun there and that I will have to live with it for the rest of my life. for a long time I got relief from enbrel before that i was alway in pain. I was on mtx first oral and that made me sooo sick even with 5mg of folic acid. As they increased it I got worse. Then I tried the injectables and broke out in to full body hives so had to stop taking it altogether. after that I tried enbrel which worked for about a 1 year and a half when it stopped working I talked to my doc who I was transfered to because my old one was leaving and found he was a jerk, my doc said in more words when she found who he was that he was a dick. my thoughts exactly lol. Now I'm just trying to survive. I work 40 hours a week or more and have 2 small kids 4 and 6 and my boyfriend is blind, don't I have my hands full. He minimumly helps around the house he thinks watching the kids while I'm at work is part of house care haha what an ass if I didn't love him so much would kick him out for the second time. anyways, the new ra doc found me extremely informed and I would like to thank everyone here for that, without this group I would probably not know as much information as I do about the various RA drugs. Guest guest
You are a very busy girl. Your right though, try it, and if it don't work, go on to something else. With your new doctor, she will find something for you. You've had some problems with some of the meds, and that is common. Just keep on, till you find the one. I wish you lots of luck, Tawny --- In , " Massey " <renandstimpy3@...> wrote: > > its the one med I'm leary about taking. Guest guest
Hi : Before I started the Placquenil I had my eyes examed by my eye surgeon. My Rheumy wanted me to do so. I have taken it successfully now for 2 years, and no problems with it at all. Hope this med. helps you. Wishing you many pain free days ahead. Guest guest
, that sounds about like what my Rheumy told me too when I first started on the plaquenil. I had to stop taking it though, it made my eyesight blurry. Then he put me on Sulfasalazine and later added the MTX. - best of luck to you. Keep us posted.....Doreen , You'll want to see your eye doctor I believe every 6 months but I might be wrong on that, someone here will correct me please if i am but you have to stay on top of your eyesight with Plaqunil (sp?).
