orencia question

I am not taking MTX with the Orencia and wonder if I need to suggest adding it.

It worked for me for awhile. I had to stop Arava (which also worked for a

couple months) because my BP went very high. I'm taking Suladin as an anti

inflammatory twice a day and honestly can't tell it does anything.

I'm just frustrated. Part of it could be weather. I do need a paddle because

it won't stop raining here in beautiful TN! I'm feeling so guilty because I'm

using the hydrocodiene and oxycotin I was given. I use probably 1 to 1/2 daily.

I know this is nowhere near addict level, but I guess it's the Catholic guilt

kicking in.

Thanks for listening to me whine. Oh, and my hair is falling out by the

handfulls. I got my hair cut short and parted to the extreme side to cover the

baldish spot. I go back to the dermatologist next week for hair growth

injection shots again. Hope they work like they did last time.

I'm in the same boat you are in. Wanna help paddle? Anyway, I've been on

Orencia since late July of last year. After the first 3-4 months it started

working less and less to where, after an infusion, I'd have two good weeks and

two crap weeks. My Dr really doesn't want me to stop the ORencia though. He took

me off methotrexate and put me on Arava. That helped some.

I'm still having trouble though. He's talked about allowing me to change

medications in a couple of months if I/we see no improvement. I confess I can't

remember the name of the medication he mentioned. I started with an 'R' and is

an infusion that is taken one time every 3-4 months or so. Sorry I can't be more

specific. My brain-fog is really really bad lately.

again. I am consulting with a orthodontic surgeon next week. I've been on

Orencia for four months. At first after the infusion, I will feel great. Two

weeks before the next infusion, I feel like crap again. Does this mean Orencia

isn't working for me and that I should try Remicade? Or is this as good as it

gets. I'm afraid to try a new Devil in exchange for the 'devil I know. "

I know this must have been answered in the past, but did anyone get bad

reactions from your orencia infusion?I go for my first infusion on Wed. and am a

little nervous.I read that sometimes allergic reactions and/or side effects dont

show till the next day.I took off work the day after the infusion just in

case. Also, I do have a mild form of COPD and there is a warning about that

too.Any input would be appreciated.Thanks,

Orencia has been great for me, but it usually takes me the rest of the day and

sometimes the next to recover from the infusion. With mine, they also give me

an infusion of benedryl because everything makes me itch. Take some OTC pain

meds before the infusion. I have tiny veins, so even the small butterfly

needles make me ache. Bring a book and a blanket. I hope Orencia works as well

for you as it has for me!
