My son as been in the US Army for 18 years, has been to Afghanistan twice and

will probably go again, I wish he'd get out but it's his life, and I really

can't advise him to do so now because he's only got a little ways to go before

he can retire. Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of RA, Jack fell

down and broke his crown then realized he was depressed.

Stan,

Seattle, Rainy.

[ ] how do you know if a flare is over

good morning all,

thank you to everyone, for the welcome to the group. i just know i will learn so

much about my RA here.

here in alabama today, it is raining, and cool. that makes me hurt all over.....

a good day to stay in and snuggle down with a book or something....... i wish --

still have to feed the animals.

i can't believe that after taking the pred. , i can actually make a fist with my

right hand. haven't been able to do that in a long time. still can't close my

left hand , but probably never will again. the swelling is down so much. i had

to have all my rings cut off yrs. ago, now my right hand could wear a ring

again.... seems like its my left side thats the worse. my left knee stays

swelled up all the time too. but, both shoulders hurt, both hips, and my back...

so far, thank the lord, my feet have not been affected.

i really don't know about flare ups. i had been in constant pain for so long.

now with the meds, am doing better. i hate to think about hurting that bad ever

again. with the lortab i can actually function again. i know i can't take

lortabs forever, just don't know what i'll do when i can't.

stan, i see you are in seattle. thats where both of my grandsons are. both of

them are stationed at ft. lewis. the youngest one, (19) will be deployed soon to

afghanistan. already being depressed with this RA, and him leaving, ....'bout

more than i can take sometimes....

hope all have a good day, thank you all for the wonderful responses to my

joining the group. i already feel so glad for having found you all....

betty

My husband is active duty and heading back to Iraq again soon. I know all about

living with this dang stuff and dealing with deployments along side of it. We

can retire in 4 years but that seems like a long time away when they are going

away all the time. RA and single parenting is tough. Blessings to you all and

your families while abroad.

,

I hope your husband will stay safe. I'm sure it's difficult when he's away.
