Guest guest
Please don't yell at me but.......Its important for me to know that others have gotten small by using Intuitive eating. I'm small and have been for a very long time.......I accomplished that by using overeaters anonymous. I don't want to go back to OA I would just like reassurance that people do get small/stay small after practicing IE for a while. I know I might need to be willing to put on a little while I learn.....but I really like the weight I am now.....it feels good and I can do all my activities easily at this weight. I would just rather not " diet " to stay this size if there is a better way. Guest guest
No yelling here! Yes, there are others that have gotten small with IE. When you learn to eat intuitively, you don't end up eating too many calories because: you're not stuffing your feelings, you're not panicked that the food is going to run out, you're not mindlessly eating because you are trying to avoid feeling guilty about food, you're not eating food that you "should" instead of what you want, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Your body DOES know how to balance itself, but we live in a world that bombards us with external stimuli. I, personally, am in a smaller size clothing than I have worn in more than ten years. BUT, it has taken almost two years of work. Not dieting, but real, hard work. It's HARD to love myself. It's HARD to trust myself. It's HARD to ignore the "advice" of every expert in town. Even better than the pants size, for me, is the feeling I get from trusting my intuition. It has spilled over into so many other areas of my life-- in ways that losing weight never could. So, while I have gotten smaller, my life has gotten larger. That's what makes the work worth it. Guest guest
I love how you said that - Hard work in that loving yourself, trusting yourself and ignoring 'expert' advice instead of Hard work at restricting yourself, staying on track and not being 'bad' - being new at this IE I am finding that's the biggest struggle right now, letting go of all that I have 'learned' and learning to trust and love myself. It's hard to do when you worry about losing weight (and it's hard not to worry about losing weight with the messages we are bombarded with) - but looking forward to having a 'larger' life and the 'smaller' self will come... thanks, e > > No yelling here! > > Yes, there are others that have gotten small with IE.
