Guest guest
I have had all the symptoms you describe without the Bursitis, in other words, due to Rheumatoid Arthritis only. Multiple flares in both shoulders is the worst set of circumstances I have to endure. I have a habit of not being too bad off when I am at a doctor's appointment. It's like the car that makes the noise except when you actually have a mechanic look at it. Hopefully your physician will have an answer for you. Stan Seattle, rain. My right shoulder was so bad, as bad as it has ever been. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain and it was bad, did I say it was bad? After a few hours it subsided and I was able to sleep. Anyway, I have had this before, can not raise my arms up, can not turn my wrists so my palms are up. I have done some reading and may conclude that it is Bursitis along with the Arthritis. Does this make sense. I do not feel so bad now, I was on vacation last week. This week back at work is going to be busy, will see how I feel by the weekend. I do have a Dr. Appoint. monday. So at least I may be in some pretty good pain while actually at the Dr. office. Experienced a new pain on the inside of my left elbow, when I bend it in there was a sharp snapping pain, made me extend immediately to make it go away. Has only done this a half a dozen times without warning. Mark
Guest guest
My rheumy just tells me it is my RA flaring and that when my wrists bother me to the point that I cannot bare to place pressure on them most times it is when I have done yard work and constant use of my hands to trim the bushes on top or using the computer typing for a long period of time. My left foot yrs. ago I had a hairline fracture and when the weather her gets cloudy or rainy and cool my feet swells and all joints get stiff, warm feeling and painful on movement. I have never been told that I have Bursitis. My shoulder on the right I can't seem to move it too much without pain and was told my rotator cuff was worn. Need to have at one time have that fixed, but I am not going to have it done. My joints are all affected in some way with RA and since having a total knee replacement and the pain is still very prevalent don't think fixing another without replacing it would be beneficial for me. Guest guest
Hi Mark, I'm sorry to hear your in so much pain. It's not easy to deal with it all, and working too. What type of meds are you on? Make sure you tell your doctor all that your going through. You could have bursitis, or you might be in a BIG flare. I have a lot of problems with my elbow now. It's always swollen, and once in awhile, it will hurt so bad. I can't even pick up anything. I take mobic, NSAID, and it feels a lot better after a few days. I don't take it all the time, but when I need to, I do. I have bursitis once in awhile, and my rheumy gives me a steroid shot right in the joint, and it feels a lot better, after a few days. The doctor should be able to help, lots of RA meds out there. Let us know how the doc appointment goes. Feel better soon, Tawny > > ok, > > as if the joint pain isn't enough. middle of last week, shoulders elbows ankles big toes wrists, all where hurting. Guest guest
Hi Irish - years ago I had surgery to remove bone spurs that were on the humeral head of my shoulder. Since the surgery, I don't feel the catching and extreme pain that I did before. My rotator cuff was intact, so they didn't have to mess with that. I still get pain at times, but I know its the RA pain and not the bone spurs catching on something. You should have an MRI done and be evaluated by an Orthopaedic. You don't have to suffer in pain.....Doreen > > My rheumy just tells me it is my RA flaring and that when my wrists > bother me to the point that I cannot bare to place pressure on them > most times it is when I have done yard work and constant use of my > hands to trim the bushes on top or using the computer typing for a > long period of time. Guest guest
I really hope I am feeling this way on Monday at my Dr. All of my fingers are swollen, left arm is pretty useless. I guess you all know the drill. Yesterday at work I really over did it. I work with computer networks, selling and designing data networks and phone systems also. Mostly in schools. We are a but short in the labor department, so I was out installing some phones and programming. I must have walked a few miles in that school, and it was hot. Started at 7:00, my back gave out around 11:00. Could hardly move by 1:00. Went home at 2:00 and collapsed for 3 hours. Went back again today, did not walk much. I am at a point in this job where I was just at a point to take over my department, the stress and ongoing technical studying is becoming to much with being tired all of the time. I am getting close to the point where I may have to let it go and reduce my responsibilities at work. Not an easy thing to do. I look at people every day and see how easy they do thing, like get up out of a chair with out thinking about it..... I need to hold on for two more years to get my son thru High School. (Private School) He is doing very well there and I hate for him to have to leave. Kinda of a catch 22, the stress of trying to work to maintain things is not helping but if I take a leave from work the stress of the drop in income would probably be more. I could go part time at work, but I have been paying for short term disability for years and I would hate to loose that. My company sees full time as 40 hrs, so I can not reduce them. I guess that is long enough, could probably go on. Thanks for the replies from those who have been there and done that. I am just in a real busy time of life with my family.
