Guest guest
Hi Carol, So sorry to hear of your long standing panic attacks. Yes, Ativan is very addictive and it will take a long time to wean off it but you can do it! Probably the most important other thing you can do while on meds (and off them) is to have cognitive behavioural therapy, which I have found really effective with my severe anxiety problems. It has changed my life (and my mind) though it takes a little time and perseverance in practicing it. It becomes a way of life and that's why it's effective. There are practitioners and clinics who specialize in panic attacks. I hope you can find one in your area. Good luck, Ros
Guest guest
Thanks so much Ros. I have started to wean myself off the ativan slowly and feel a little more alive. I am going to look into the therapy. I have good insurance and I know they cover it. Carol
