I am glad I am not as old as you old farts....... But I tell you what, I think

we should found a nursing home for you ancient geezers and staff it with EMT and

Paramedic students. They could be precepted on geriatric care BY geriatric

patients, but God forbid one of you should ever code. Talk about fair game for

practice....

Considering the tremendous pension programs most EMS people have, and the

disposable incomes to put away for a rainy day, the idea of a nursing

home for EMSers (like the Soldiers and Sailors Home) might not be a bad

idea.

Folically challenged - that is how I see myself. I suggest you do as I do. Wear

a hat and grow a beard. That way you appear wise and don't blind anybody when

that ray of sunlight bounces off your cranium.

Right Don?

I am still active and so is my wife who is 2 years behind me I am a first

on his second license and currently enrolled in a paramedic school and will

test for his intermediate some time in January of 2003.

Check on Steve Diamonds status and Kunipil I think they have more

The list is honored by your presence and honors your commitment to EMS!

It seems we both got started the same time.......still in the Dark Ages of

EMS but a lot changed since then, eh?

Re: " Dinosaurus-Medicus " - The Search for Yoda

Where's all the female representation--so far we've got a lopsided list!

Can I get on the list? Started as an ECA in 1978 and worked my way up.

Quite a few of you have me beat on years in EMS, but I probably have most

of

you beat in age--was already 35 when I got that first ECA certification.

Hey does a 20 year medic make the list?

20 years

Re: " Dinosaurus-Medicus " - The Search for Yoda

> Very good Jane. Very good. That's been exactly my reoccurring nightmare

for a few years. We're gonna look up and see nothing but the faces of former

students and they'll be wringing their hands with evil smiles on their

faces. Just don't put me in the same room with Dean (who, by the way,

needs to be on this list as he's got about a 26 year tenure). Beasley,

who still works for us, has been around since '68. There's a 34 year guy.

Great comment, Jane.

I have to admit being a youngster here, only certified 20 years last month!

But, I have a secret. I came over from the " Dark Side of the Force " , since I

have now been licensed as a Peace Officer for 30 years as of last June! So,

was moving from Police to Fire/EMS good or bad? Depends on which side you ask!
