RHEUMMY SAYS UR RA IS ACTIVE,TO ME IT MEANS UR JOINTS R WARM & MAYBE TENDER TO

THE TOUCH & SWOLLEN.

 THE DIFFERENCE TO ME,LISA IS WHEN THEY SAY SEVERE,IT COULD MEAN U HAVE IT ALL

OVER UR JOINTS OR IN ONE OR MORE OF UR JOINTS.

THE MILD CASE WOULD B LIKE O.K. R.A. PRESENT BUT NOTHING TOO SERIOUS,THAT

SOME MEDS WON'T HURT TO TRY.

LISA, ABOUT THE MEDS U NEED TO TAKE THEM,IF THEY HELP U,IF NOT LET UR

RHEUMMY KNOW SO HE CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. WITH THIS DIESEAS U NEED TO

LET UR DOCTS. NO EVERYTHING. SO THEY CAN HELP U. SO, I TOTALLY TELL HER

EVERYTHING FROM A TO Z...... FUNNY HUH?

THE DIFFERENCE TO ME IS JRA IS WHEN U GET IT @ A YOUNG AGE,WHICH I

DID AS U KNOW.THE RA IS LIKE THE SAME THING BUT PEOPLE USALLY GET IT @ AN

OLDER AGE OR SOMEWHAT.

TO ME IT DOES NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE BECAUSE I'M IN PAIN, UR IN PAIN, I'M SEVERE

UR A MILD CASE.WHICH EVER WAY U LOOK @ IT,THE PAIN & THE INFLAMMATION R

PRESENT IN BOTH OF US...... WHEN MY JRA IS ACTIVE MY BONES HURT ALOT!

OH LISA, I THINK I TAKE EVERY MED KNOWN TOO MAN,HAAAA-HEEEEE....LOL

SERIOUSLY,THOUGH I TAKE AROUND 10 TO 12 DIFFERENT KINDS OF MEDS.

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER & MY MOM WAS ALIVE,I WAS ON EVEN MORE TILL SHE

SAW WHAT THE MEDS COULD DO TO YOU.......... THEN MY MOM TOOK ME OFF!

I'M NOT SURE WHAT OTHER MEDS UR ON OR IT'S JUST ENBREL? I TAKE A SHOT OF FORTEO

EVERY SINGLE DAY & THEN I GET INFUSION INJECTIONS OF RITUXIN EVERY 3 TO 4

MONTHS.

LET ME TELL U RIGHT NOW THOUGH,IF MY MOM WOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN ME OFF

THE HARD MEDS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER,I WOULD PROBABLY NOT B LIVING TODAY.

SO,TO ME SHE DID AN " AWESOME " JOB IN CARING FOR ME THE WAY SHE DID.........

ABOUT THE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE PART,I TEND TO ALWAYS GET IT WHEN I'M

IN SEVERE PAIN. EVERYONE LIKE SOOO FREAKS OUT!!

SO,NOW THEY HAVE ME TRYING ABLOOD PRESSURE MED 2x'S DAILY,NOW

THAT I DO NOT WANT....THANK YOU, VERY MUCH!!!!!!!

SO YES,U COULD LISA HAVE A CORRELATION WITH HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE.

IF U WAIT TOO LONG TO TAKE UR MED'S,IT ONLY GET'S WORSE....

LIKE HERE IN CORPUS THEY HAVE A BLOOD PRESSURE MACHINE,IF

U WANT TO CHECK UR RATE @ ALL THE H.E.B.

SO THEN YOU WOULD NOT HAVE TO GO TO THE DR. UNLESS IT'S REALLY HIGH

BECAUSE U COULD START GOING INTO CONVULSIONS,POSSIABLY DEATH,TOO.

IT'S JUST LIKE LIFE U HAVE TO TAKE CHANCES BECAUSE THEN WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN...

LASTLY LISA, A GOOD PLAN TODAY,IS BETTER THAN A " PERFECT " PLAN TOMORROW........

I BELIEVE THE CHOICES WE MAKE ARE OUR " DESTINY. "

Hi Melynda,

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you.  Lots of Birthdays  this

month. 

Ahhhh Texas.  That must be nice.  I've never been that side  of the USA. 

My Cousin lives out there.  And I have an Aunt  and Uncle that snow bird

there every year.  OH it must be so  nice!  I wish I could share some of this

snow with you.  We  have PLENTY!  You can take it all, it won't hurt my

feelings a  bit.

I was diagnosed with RA in early 2008.  But I've had it much  longer than

that.  I'm one of those people that  don't go to the  doctor unless they

think that they are seriously dyeing of something.  The  mysterious symptoms

started in 2004, but the flares were less  frequent.  I guess what broke the

straw on the camels back was in 2008 I  had to wake up a neighbor to help me

get ready for work one morning.  I  couldn't use one of my arms and the pain

was real bad.  Okay... that  did it.. I went to doctors and that is when

they ran there tests and diagnosed  me.  There's no joint damage according to

the X-Rays.  But  the disease is very active.  So I'm not sure what they mean

when they say  the disease is severe or mild.  I take Enbrel.  I really

hate  the shots with a passion!  Prescribed to take the enbrel once a week 

but I only take it when I can't stand the pain any more which is almost  like

every 2 weeks.  I know, I know... I can get into trouble for that  one...

Not following doctors orders.  ..

We are close to the same age.  I'm 42 years young.  Wow!  You sure do have

your hands full with problems.  I'm so very  sorry.  What is the difference

between Junior RA and regular  RA?  I know, like my husband always tells me

when I ask him  something... " Google it. "   I hate that!  LOL! 

That's funny about how that doctor reacted to you telling him you smoke to 

help the pain. 

Yea.. it is legalized here in Michigan but I don't have the guts to bring 

it up to my doctor.  Even though it is legalized.  Some  doctors here still

make a fuss about prescribing it.  I'm not  sure where my Rheumy stands on

this.  Not yet anyway.  I've only  seen him twice so far.  I like him a lot. 

Better than the last Rheumy  that wouldn't help me at all with the pain. 

Well.. Yeah I guess in  his mind he was trying to help by trying to reduce

the inflamation.  But  wouldn't help with immediate pain.  And when I would

tell him the  symptoms I've been having he would just say " hmmm interesting. "

  LOL!!  He had to go.

I don't know if my blood pressure goes up during a sever flare.  How  do I

find that out without going to Doctors office?
