Guest guest
Hello, I would definitely NOT keep a large quantity of ice cream if you are struggling. This is a process, it takes time for your brain to be " re-wired. " I'm in the same spot as you. I am not yet to the point where a half-gallon of ice cream doesn't call me even when I'm not hungry for it. Each time I end up eating it straight from the carton, and feeling guilty, even though I don't eat the whole thing at once. When I really want ice cream, I go out and calmly buy a cone of whatever flavor I feel like. It doesn't matter if it's low sugar or low fat; one scoop of the richest ice cream doesn't equal half a container of the lowest-calorie they can make it! Give yourself time; start with taking a break from it, give yourself permission to buy a cone or two scoops every night if you want, but keep it from the house. Then you are eating it the way a " normal " person would, instead of even opening the door to do otherwise. Then start with buying a pint of it? And see how it goes.
