Guest guest
Hi, I started on Enbrel this past January, a few weeks after my first shot I got sick so had to stop taking Enbrel for about a month. Started up again and was doing okay and now I'm sick again. Sore throat, fever, cough, stuffed up, definitely in my chest, so I'm sure I'll have to stop Enbrel until I'm better again. My questions are, is this normal, to get sick so much? I believe I read that Enbrel suppresses your immune system, so does everyone on it get sick a lot? How do you prevent this? Are there certain foods that help? I get a vitamin C shot every month and also take vitamin D every day (I was low on both), are there other vitamins I should add in? I was laid off about a year ago and am currently taking classes at a local college where the younger people always seem to be ill and they still come to class. So I'm surrounded by coughing, sneezing, etc, and most of them don't seem to know to cover their mouths! I'm thinking maybe this is where I'm picking up the bugs. Is there any way to prevent this? Thanks for any information you can give me. I'm going to call my rheumy today but thought I'd get more actual experience information from this wonderful group.
