I have come a long way in just a few days... From just realizing the surgery to realizing that I want it! My Question is how to choose a date. My girls swim so we have meets every weekend until March. But having the surgery over the holidays would stretch out my sick leave. It would be nice to start walking in the Spring. Any advise about fitting the surgery into your life? How long before I'll be up and about again? >> Vicki, I just scheduled my surgery date with Dr. Rabkin. I'm scheduled for Nov. 21st. I picked that date, because I get 3 days off that week for Thanksgiving and then I'll use my sick leave until Winter Break which goes from Dec. 22 to Jan 8th. I'm hoping this combo. of sick leave and vacation days will be sufficient time for me to recoup. and be ready to teach again for 7 periods a day. For me this seems to work out well. Best of luck to you, Debby in Modesto
