Guest guest
Judith, I had all of those fillinghs removed fiftteen years ago.....Very expensive. I cannot honestly say whether it helped or not. I have done well with vitamins, minerals, herbs, stretching, exercise, etc. No drugs other than 4.5 mg. of Low Dose Naltrexone.........Since starting the LDN in July of 2004,,,thankfully no progression. Regards, Tom Bayuk www.copingandprevailing.com advice on amalgam needed I really need some advice on what to do about amalgam fillings. I know that it is best to have them removed but how? Some have said that disturbing the amalgam by removal is worse than leaving it put. In an ideal world we would all have access to a like minded dentist who knows about chelation but few do. I have an urgent proplem which cropped up on Thursday _ just before my dentists closed for New Year. I bit on an almond _ I eat them every day _ and the fromt of one of my teeth broke off leaving nothing much except for a very visible chunk of amalgam filling. After a sleepless night, realising I was severly toxic, I saw the emergency dentist who covered it until I coud see my regular dentist. Now I do not know what to do next. I have an appointment next week and there is no pain but can I ask him to just drill out the old filling or pull out the remainder of the tooth and then what? Actually, my teeth are usually very good and I had a check up the week before and was actually commended for my dental hygiene. I felt like I had a gold star at school! So it was a bit tough to be landed with this new situation. I had been thinking about how to tackle old amalgam fillings for a while. How expert in such removal does the dentist have to be. My dentist is actually very nice and I have not had a filling for many years and even then it was not amalgam. Can anyone tell me what they have done with amalgam filings. If you have had them removed and how the dentist has done it and what immediate chelation you have gone for. I have been taking all of my BBD supplements and upping the Vit C. and I do keep to the diet. Your help would be much appreciated. Happy New Year. Lots of love to everyone, Judith
Guest guest
There are certain safety protocols that have been put together to remove almagam safely. I would def. seek a dentist that follows these since you have ms. IAOMT is an org that does this. here is their protocol. *http://tinyurl.com/IAOMT *
Guest guest
Hi Judith, The dentists who specialize in amalgam removal usually take it out in chunks rather than just drill tiny pieces all over. They do use a drill, but again it is taken in chunks, not tiny particles. And they do take precautions. I have had MS for several years. About 1 year into my illness I had my 3 amalgams removed by an amalgam dentist specialist. I feel that it did not help or hurt in regard to my MS, but a part of me does feel better knowing there is no mercury in my mouth. I do wonder how much mercury might have entered my system during the removal process. I never really did any chelation at that time--I probably should have but I just didn't know how and couldn't find a good practitioner to help me with that. The dentist gave me a sheet with over 50 chelation supplements I was supposed to take for a month or two after the process, but it was just too much for me. I recall the day I had them removed I felt great. Maybe it was just placebo effect though--since all symptoms came back. Anyway, bottom line, based on my own experience I would suggest to find a dentist specializing in amalgam removal and get that out and they will restore the tooth with composite material. Given that you are not in pain, it would seem that the root of the tooth is fine and hence I wouldn't have it pulled. ________________________________ To: mscured Sent: Tue, January 4, 2011 7:11:27 AM Subject: advice on amalgam needed
Guest guest
The blog for the IAOMT has videos of how amalgam should be removed safely. Go to http://iaomt.blogspot.com/ where Dr. Kennedy explains it all. The IAOMT does not police their dentist to make sure they are following the safe removal protocols the IAOMT recommends. You can contact DAMS at for an information packet and a list of dentists DAMS believes is safe. You can call Leo after reviewing this List and he will read to you feedback from different people. If you educate yourself on how it should be done safely, then you can call the dentist's office and interview him to see what protocols he is following. This puts pressure on them to do it right. I took my own checklist into the dentist's office when I sat down in the chair. I kept reminding him to change gloves, etc. It is a buyer beware situation. I am glad I had mine removed safely, and have done lots of detox, studied lots on alternative health, and know I would be in much worse shape today if my exposure to mercury vapor had not stopped. Guest guest
According to my research and experience oral chlorella is all you need and to do chelation like an iv with a doc for mercury is dangerous as it removes too much too soon. low and slow and preferably out the gi tract rather than the kidneys
Guest guest
Dear and everyone who has joined in with my current amalgam panic. I have forwarded the protocol for removing amalgam to my dentist. I am sure he will look at it but I do think he will be unimpressed. However, I AM impressed and have started frantically looking for a mercury free dental practitioner nearby in the UK. I definitely will not let my own (very nice but coming from an out -of-date viewpoint) dental surgeon drill it out. As it is the tooth which has the problem and not the tough amalgam, I think he will just put something fairly benign on top _ no metal anything. As there is no pain _ except for the dreadful realisation that poison in one,s mouth is a bad thing _ my priority is safe removal and safe chelation. By the way, it was actually this dentist who got me off Fossemax by telling me it causes spontenous fractures and will damage the jaw. He is not completely uninformed. Thanks again for all your valued advice. Love, Judith Re: advice on amalgam needed According to my research and experience oral chlorella is all you need and to do chelation like an iv with a doc for mercury is dangerous as it removes too much too soon. low and slow and preferably out the gi tract rather than the kidneys
