Guest guest
Just a quick hello! I will probably just browse awhile until i get the feel for you all. I am 38yrs old. I dont have any dx as of yet, several bloodworks are still out. I am still new to thinking about all of this. Doc thinks RA but is unsure and is waiting for rest of bloodwork before refering to immunologist. Im a healthy person, only allergies an asthma--It started with my usual fall asmatic bronchitis. wheezing, coughing, runny nose, sore throat, then also my joints, especially my knees, hips, shoulders, writs and hands were killing me. I thought I just have a flu bug, as my boys and hubby had been ill with similair over the weekend. Everything but the pain got better. It was getting to where I could barely walk, during the thrid week I finally went to the doctor,(Im a nurse and we hate going to see docs more than the public i think, uugh) lots of labs, and started me on naproxen, sed rate and c-reactive came back really high--lots of inflammation, so now waiting on ANA etc. Then this week I had a rough night at work and then i couldnt stand, or even hold a cup to drink or anything the pain was extremely bad, went to ER, shot me up with pain drugs and sent me home on steroid dose pack. Feeling much better now, just a little sore to my joints. Is this a type of flare or will there be pain again once the steroid is out of my system? Is this much pain common? I would rather give birth again. And I didnt have drugs during birth of either of my boys(too fast delivery). Can I get some of you to describe about your pain. For teh finaly to the ER IT was al lof my joints, like a 20 on the pain scale of 0-10. ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, I couldnt grip or lift, couldnt stand until after several tries then with some help and lots of screaming --I am not use to having pain like this I rarely even get a headache let alone body pain. I have cared for the elderly with RA, and dont recall them being in this type of pain, Ive never seen a flare though, and I live in a rural area--small population. shawna
