To: mscured Moderator <mscured-owner > VA is now looking at me with PPMS, Mayo Dx in 1988 as atypical spinocerebellar degeneration, both conditions are about the same with no treatment other than support Rx meds, exercise and PT but I have gotten so crippled I can't exercise or go to PT. Univ. of MS Med Ctr looked at MS as well in 1984 but MRI did not support a Dx. I have two small " white spots " and one dark lesion, the spots were first identified as small strokes but a 2nd VA neuro-ophthalmologist suggested PPMS. I'm 65 and have had Sx for 40 years since leaving Korea, all the bizarre Sx associated with MS. It is a long story. I could not water ski in 1970 after Army time or fly airplanes after 1974 due to vertigo, even with driving. I have been driving with hand controls since 1989, retired disabled(state and SS) in 1992 at age 47, use a quad cane, walker at times as well as a wheel chair in the VA hospital.
