Hi Arshad

The test is for allergic responses to foods as was explained in one of the

previous responses.

If you do some searching (Google or otherwise), you will be sure to get some

more information on tests.

Also, just as a reminder, this group is VERY different to the Australian MS

group - this group asks that its members erase the previous email, except for a

sentence explaining what the previous post/reply was concerning.

Does the ELISA test require physicians signatures?

My Igenex and Fry laboratories tests for Lyme disease required a physicians

signature.

Been battling this darn sickness for 10 years now. See some promise with being

treated for the borrelia burgdorferi bacteria and multiple co-infections. My

current LLMD, in his patient guidelines, has written about doing a food

challenge test. Maybe this blood test would be like the food challenge test?

Are there any preferred vendors?

Hi Arshad,

I have a friend in Australia who had this test, so I know it is available there.

As part of the Best Bet Diet (if you decide to go this route} it will help to

eliminate foods which people with ms should avoid eating, and also those which

you are sensitive to I'm afraid there's a ton of reading involved in order to

grasp this, so go to www.direct-ms.org. See ya in a couple of months.

,

The test is very expensive in every country, and seldom

covered by insurance. I had mine done by York Labs in the UK. It cost me about

$600.00 Canadian. That was after the discount I received through being a member

of the Best Bet Diet Group. This is done via the mail. It involves a prick to

the finger or thumb.

Group membership still offers this and other discounts.

I was very, very shocked and suprised when I got my results back. I know that I

would never have been able to figure out which foods were causing my problems on

my own. I had thought that I knew which foods were the problem, but I was wrong.

This test was the most profound eye opener. It enabled me to get rid of almost

all of my ms symptoms. What it did not fix was then taken care of by getting my

vitamin d levels up to optimum, and by also eliminating the foods not allowed on

the Best Bet.

This was the best money I ever spent.

Hope I can change your mind.

Take care,

Sheilah

Hi Sheilah

I haven't had an ELISA as I've pinpointed what causes reactions through my

body's reactions anyway.

I also don't wish to base all my 'what not to eat's on a test which isn't ALWAYS

100% accurate and which is very expensive in the UK.

As I said in my responses, sticking to the BBD fits in with what I can and can't

eat. :)

I encourage others to get an ELISA - I just don't feel the need for it for me.

Hi and All,

I've just read these posts and wonder if these

reactions are due to the foods you have tested positive to on an ELISA test
