I am becoming aware of my eating habits

I take insulin so was hungry and became intese by the time i warmed my food. i know this sounds disgusting I became aware I don't really taste my food and eat so fast i almost swallow whole.I knewn i ate fast but never noticed this before

1 eating when hungry just till full knowing real hunger

2 knowing real hunger fom symbolic hunger

3 giving permission to eat

4 becomming aware of taste of food

5 trusting the body for when where and how much to eat

Betty,

I've also noticed that pattern of almost swallowing food whole in

myself when I'm starving or in a food trance. I noticed that my mom

does it too sometimes...and I remind her to chew. It's awesome when we

have these types of insights and can create tools like you wrote...I

have those on my list as well :) I also try to take the time to savor

the smell of my food (get all of the senses involved) and it's helped

me really appreciate and honor my food and the eating process.

That is excellent work Betty! Awareness is harder work than we give

credit to. Its just too easy to slip back into mindlessly eating. The

neat part is that once you are aware - you may do it again, but each

time it seems like you notice more and then repeat less :)
